Went on a trip to Rotorua. It was with my current house mates. Keiko, Darrel and Alex. Alex also juz bought a BMW 5 series. So he took us in his car to Rotorua. At Rotorua, we did Shweeb. I achieved 1 minute and 7.5 seconds. Not too bad eh. Haha. The Malaysian record time was 1 minute and 1 second. It was I think a 200 m lap. After the cycling, I felt kinda sick cuz was really hungry.

We later went to McDonald's to eat. After lunch, we went to the i-site (the place which I went to a couple of times already). Checked out places to go and then head to the government gardens. There was a wedding there and ppl were playing lawn bowling. Walked around, took some photos too. Then we went to the thermal park beside Treks backpackers.

After that, as we were going to the Paradise Valley wildlife centre, something wrong happen to the car... Got stuck and then after a while,c ar got towed back to the city. Everyone was moodless and juz stayed in the backpackers. At nite, I had Domino's and Alex slept cuz tired. After that, Keiko, me and Darrel all went to the Polynesian spa. Stayed there from bout 9 till 11 pm. Had a gud dip.

The next day, took the bus back to Auckland. Had Korean food at Nol Bu Ne and head home. Sang some songs while playing the guitar and then helped Keiko to look at her broken hair iron. Then watched drama on tudou. After Darrel cooked, me and him ate and I fetched him to get a car frm his fren. Came back chatted on msn and did laundry. Now, gonna sleep dy!

Juz one word gotta say. Thank gudness we're all safe and sound! Haha. Cant wait til Friday!

Friday night I didnt sleep early. So, woke up quite late today. Did nth much except fiddling with Facebook and editing some photos. In the afternoon, went out for lunch with Darrel and Angelina at Elliot Stables. Had French crepe for lunch and it was really filling! It's some sort of cheese and sausage crepe. Then later in the mid-afternoons, went to pick Wen up to Aunty Jenny's place. She had a dance party and I helped her took photos.

There were lotsa food, people and desserts. Ppl brought food and desserts as well. Took about 200-300 pics myslf and looking thru them while choosing is really a huge task! What more, I still have my research going on.

As for my research, things went on quite well. I found out that the colour matrix hav some settings which made the pixels behave weirdly! I wonder why the manufacturer set those as default values neh... Anyways, now I got my code to work for our camera alrdy. In other words, dun nid to change camera! And also, my code is working fine all along! :)

Now I need to produce plots to see how the pixels behave and how they are scattered. Hopefully I'll do it soon la.. *LAZY*

It's the last day of the year. Besides, it's been weeks since I last blogged. To sum up the past few weeks, I did quite a lot of thgs apart frm my research. My research was not too bad. Nothing much on the progress but I'm trying to get them to change the camera that we're using! Haha. It has been returning vy erroneous results for the red and green channels but all good for the blue channel. Which is prolly why my code's not working. Oh well, who knows la... Haha..

Second thg is goin out with friends. Just two days ago, my friends from Palmy came by to Auckland. Pat and James. So, Jack and me brought em around a bit. And since I got a car (borrowed from Maggie Ah Yee), I can go almost everywhr in Auckland la. Throughout their stay here, we've been chatting till quite late at nite. Ytday nite, I slept at bout 4 which is slightly earlier than the day before, at bout 5.

Before the arrival of Pat and James, I had dinner parties. At Aunty Jenny's place and some of Hui Wen's family friends' places. I got to know lotsa ppl, which is not too bad eh. :) Also, quite a lot of fun too la. At Aunty Jenny's place, I had a nice lunch and a gathering with Aunty Maggie and Aunty Swee Lee. Then at Hui Wen's family friends' places, I had some karaoke sessions, loads to eat (pot-luck style), chatted a lot and played a lot with lil' kids.

Later on, am gonna go countdown ler! Hehe. Gotta check where wil the fireworks be at. Am gonna take nice pics! Okok. Chiou yea!

Omigosh! 2 weeks without blogging. That's a long time eh. Anyways, recently I have been pretty busy doing three things. Research, shifting house and happening! Haha. Let's talk bout my shifting house experience. I have shifted out from Empire and am currently sharing a room with Darrel in Mount Terrace. Rent's quite cheap cuz it's the summer and it's also super near my department. Really good eh! I spent one whole night shifting on the 30th of November and the day after, I slept nearly the whole day!

next would be the happening part. On the 26th November (my sis' bday), me, Darrel and meng went to Coromandel and Darrel had to cook u some story to skip work XD *karma minus* As for me, my supervisor is not in so I don't have to do anything :P Anyway, we spent one nite in Coromandel and went sun bathing on the sunny and sandy beaches. It was such a nice experience. I guess that's how summer feels like la!

Other than that, I went out with my friends in Auckland as well. Last Saturday on the 4th December, me, Hui Wen, Darrel and Choon Seng all went out to shop at Dressmart and Newmarket. I bought a belt, a bag, three polos, a shirt and two shorts for only NZD 270! :) Other than that, I also went out to dinner at a Belgian bar with friends, at Lone Star cafe with my aunt and many more la.

Next would be my research. At this point, I have produced a code which recovers the HDR radiance map of the image. However, I don't know which information should I use to make this HDR file. I tried asking Dr Delmas from my university but to no avail (he doesn't know about HDR) and no one from my university does HDR as well :( But nvm! I just asked a professor from Wisconsin University in the States and am now waiting for reply. Hopefully all's gonna go smoothly!!

The weekend is over! Can't believe it! Haha. On Saturday, me, Meng, Darrel and Wen went out for dinner. I received my salary! Yay! Hehe. We all went to Saffron in Ponsonby. After dinner, we walked around in Ponsonby. The cafes and bars there are all so classy and there's the very relaxing kinda ambiance too. Next time I really would like to have a corner in my home which has those type of ambiance la. Haha. Every time after work, can juz sit down on a couch or bean bag, sipping some whisky! Fuyoh... Cool la!

Today, didn't wake up early as I would like to. Hehe. Got also wake up switch off the alarm. After wake up, I showered and bummed around a bit. Not long later, I started packing my room. Arranged some stuffs until around evening la. Then had dinner. Darrel cooked. After that, Sam brought me and Meng to the driving range to play some golf. It was my first time! It's not easy I muz say but once u got the hang of it, it's not as hard la. But playing too much of it will make the palm of ur hands painful. It may even cause blisters.

After golf, we went to McDonald's on Quay Street. Had supper and head home ler! Now so late already, I also tired already la. Tomorrow wake up, get ready and go uni start working again. I have been slacking thruout the weekend! Tmrw got loads of catchin up to do!

Nearly 2 weeks since I last blogged. It had been a hell of a time for me due to my exams. I had 2 papers back-to-back as mentioned on the 3rd and 4th November. It was ENGSCI 355 and ENGSCI 363. I was quite disappointed in my performance for 355 partly because I didn't do much practice for it. As for 363, it was more of a relieve considering the fact that I didn't do very well throughout the semester for this paper. Right after 363 (4th Nov), I had like 9 days to study for the next paper, ENGSCI 331.

I kinda realised that the stuff that I study in my course is actually covers a broad area and in a way, I'm quite versatile! However, I haven't mastered it properly. I bet those of my friends who are good in those subjects can do any engineering specialisation and still understand it! And that is how versatile Engineering Scientists are. Well, I gotta buck up more! Next year will be my final year of study.

OK, enough of the exams stuff for now. Today I woke up quite late cuz the night before I slept late (was playing my iTouch. Hehe!). It was the first day I started my Summer Research Program. To those who are not in the know, the reason why I'm staying back in Auckland this Summer is because I was chosen to do one of the Summer Research Titles under Dr Andrew Mason (Eng. Science) and Prof. Gordon Mallinson (Mechanical Eng.). Hence, throughout my research duration, I'll be filling this blog up with what I have done. :)

My research is basically about automated 8mm film digitisation. In the early days, films were used to capture videos, typically 8 mm films. As time passes, these medium of storage deteriorates or can be destroyed with ease without careful handling. However, with the current technology of storing files and information digitally, these factor can be overcome. So, the aim is to convert these old film movies into digital formats.

One method of converting these old movies into digital files was to project the film and record it with a camcorder (just like how people ciplak movies). Haha. However, a lot of details is lost due to the many processes and also, a lot of high-end equipment is needed to ensure the minimum amount of detail loss. Two years ago, there was a undergraduate Mechatronics project which studied this area. The student modified the method of capturing the images on the 8 mm film by photographing each frame instead of recording the projection.

They reconstructed a film digitiser machine to be able to do that and the images which are captured are all processed to correct the exposure and reduce the noise, and then combined into a video. This method would mean that one can digitise films at home economically while maintaining a high quality.

My area of research will be on the frame alignment to reduce shake and also exposure correction or in other words, high dynamic range imaging. If I am not wrong, dynamic optimisation can be used in these two areas to improve the quality of the video files. As for the mechanical part of the project, I will be working closely with another Mechatronics student, Brian.

And so, I went to uni to do some literature review on this topic and that's it. After that, I had to take a bus to Maggie ah yee's place to give Wei-Sheng tuition for his Biology. Went there at around 2 pm and got back by 515 pm. Met up with Jothi cuz she wanna put her stuffs at my place over the summer. I was a little unhappy with her actually but I didn't show it out la. She told me she only wanna put one luggage and 4 boxes with me but ended up there were 7 or 8 boxes! That's like double the amount already. At first I promised 4 only but what can I do? I couldn't just tell her I can't keep cuz she's leaving the following day... Sigh~ Frankly speaking, the next time anyone tries to do this to me, I'm gonna just say sorry I can't help outside of what I promised lo! -_-"

Anyways, after shifting all her stuffs, I went to Mission bay to meet up with Sam and the rest. They went there earlier to have a picnic and to play some beach volleyball which I missed! :( Oh well, it's not as bad too cuz I still get to have dinner with them at an Italian restaurant, Portofino. Had risotto and a cup of mochacinno. After dinner, we all went to Kelvin's place to meet up with Dimi before she leaves Auckland for Malaysia.

Then, it was back home. At home, Meng did some research on Master studies in Auckland Uni. He may study it next year. We talked whole night bout it and he was choosing some subjects which he feels is interesting to do. We went to bed quite late.

It's been a looooong time since I do this. So, since I got the time now, let's do it! :) This pic is quite recent (relatively). It's take on Florence's birthday this year. Florence is the lady in the blue dress squatting right in the middle. This party was kinda like a surprise party planned by Andrew (the guy standing behind Florence). The party was done at Florence's apartment in 96 Symonds St and these are all the people who attended. All Malaysians with most of us being in the same batch. :)

It's always fun when we got birthdays here. Most of the time we would get together to celebrate. If not, we just stay at home and mind our own business lo. We hardly will go to each others' place to chill or even go out nowadays. I guess cuz everyone's busy too gua. Nevertheless, we did go out when we're in our first year here. That's why times like these are really worth cherishing and when I come to think of it again, times like these may not be as common in the future when everyone starts working.

Past few days haven't been typing down my daily life eh. This is because life has been a routine these few days. Besides that, past two days have been really stressful too. I just had two papers, one each day on the 3rd and 4th November. Thank goodness both are afternoon papers. Hehe! Can get to sleep la, what more? :P

Well, the past few days, I have been studying, sleeping a lot, watching anime, surfing the web and back to more studying of course. Haven't been cooking a lot so ate outside food. Felt kinda lazy to cook but then today I cooked la. Still waiting for the chicken to roast in the oven. Mmmm... Yummy eh?

Ok, here comes the technical part of stuffs. So, skip the next one paragraph if u dun wanna read it. :)

Anyways, today and yesterday I have been studying computational techniques for numerical methods. Numerical methods used to find the roots for an equation or even to find the minimum or maximum point of an equation (given one exists). So, for root-finding, there are 5 methods that I learned - Bisection, Secant, Regula Falsi, Newton's and the Laguerre's Methods. In Laguerre's Method, I also learned Horner's Rule to evaluate derivatives and the function values more efficiently. Moving on to finding the optima points, I learned the Dicothomous search, Uniform search, Fibonacci search, Golden Section search, Brent's method and Derivative methods. Now I'm moving on to study the usage of Python (another computer programming language).

Alright! I remember evrythg that I study! :) Well, I guess tonight I'll make good progress while getting good rest too. And then I'm gonna try and sleep early. Hehe! Okok, will stop here for today.

It's Halloween in Western countries and just another normal day in Eastern countries. However, in Auckland, right now in the University of Auckland, it's our exams! I just had my first paper today, this morning. It was not too bad la. Most questions can do but not all questions can do, which means A+ should be quite far away from my reach eh.. :(

Well, after the test, went to lunch with housemates at a Korean place. Another let down... Sucky food! The place which I wanted to eat at was not open so just have to go to another one. Anyways, after I reach home, I was feeling really tired all of a sudden. Dunno why. I had enough sleep but am just so tired! So, took a nap.

Woke up, hungry. Ordered pizzas. Whole house had pizzas. 18 inch pizzas! Huge as.... Haha. Then studied. Tonight, I learned new stuffs. WARNING: skip these two paragraphs if u dun wanna bore urslf out! I know that when u = curl a, it follows that the divergence of the field is 0. The divergence of a field gives the volume change per volume of the field. Both these results means that in that field, an equivoluminal wave is produced. When the equivoluminal result is substituted into Navier's equation, we get the 3D wave equation which with some manipulation, gives the speed of the wave.

These results are useful for earthquake detection. In earthquakes, two types of waves are produced - p-waves and s-waves. P-waves are irrotational waves (also called waves of dilatation) while s-waves are equivoluminal waves (also called shear waves or waves of distortion). Both waves deflect and diffract at surfaces and boundaries while traveling at different speeds with p-waves traveling at a faster speed. These characteristics makes earthquakes and its epicentre predictable. It can be done by detecting p-waves and the epicentre can be pin-pointed by drawing arcs around each recording stations which detect the waves.

Very technical eh? Haha. I guess I need to write it down to remember. So, ignore it if u think it's too boring or technical la. :P

One day before my first paper. Still doing my revision as usual but the whole day I revised on my other subject, ENGSCI 363. Morning woke up quite late cuz slept really late the nite before and since it's kinda like the holidays, I felt that I can sleep longer and have enough sleep. :) In the afternoon, had some lunch and then continue my studies.

Basically I didn't do much today. Did do a past year though. But didn't end it cuz was feeling tired so went to bed earlier. Well, let's hope for the best for tomorrow's paper eh!

Wednesday, the day the cleaner comes. Woke up and cleaner came to clean the whole apartment. So cool eh? :) Dun have to clean it ourselves. Save time too. Anyways, did some past year papers and then went out to the US Consulate only to find that it's closed! :(

Nothing much today basically. Just some studies and watched a movie. That's it I guess. I guess there will be more interesting stuffs after the exams eh?

Labour day in NZ. I didn't go out though there were sales almost everywhr on Queen St or Dressmart. Besides that, I didn't succumb to the temptation of goin out to Mission Bay with Sharon and gang! Haha. So proud of myself. I stayed home studied STATS the whole day -_-" Watched a movie at night and that's all gua. Nothing much interesting happened except I learned a lot on probability generating functions (PGFs) which are really useful given only a small range enveloping 0.

Ok, enough of the technical stuffs. I am so looking forward to the holidays! I get to do research!! :) I wonder why so many people don't like research but I like it! And am looking forward to it. Basically, all of my friends are more interested in working in the real world rather than doing research. Is it because of the money they'll get? Take NZ for instance, working outside in NZ entitles u to at least 28% more in terms of salary per hour. HOWEVER, u may still need to travel there, work longer hours, have less flexibility in terms of working periods and more.

But then again, working outside ain't that bad too. You can get to meet more working people who take up managerial posts, can get more exposed to practical stuffs, learn working ethics and dynamics and more la. In other words, got good, got bad. Depends on what's ur ultimate aim.

My aim? Most prolly lecturing or even stay in the uni to work la. So, research helps me! I've worked anyways. That was last year's summer in KL. Thanks to Irlyn Ah Yee for the job! :) I learned a lot and twas a vy eventful holidays last summer. Okok, I'll be back to my books for now!

Vimalan, Clarence and Han Meng's birthday today! Triple happiness! Haha. I woke up quite late today cuz the nite before play until quite late la. =P Anyways, after woke up, got ready and evrythg then started studying STATS 325. The exam's this Saturday, 30 October, 9:15 a.m. Good luck to me!!

Well, whole day been studying and downloading movies and songs. Update myself too mar. Hehe. Also, took a few afternoon naps. At night Meng suggested to go to the casino. So, we went there and I lost all the 60 bucks I brought along. That's it, I tell myself. After the 60 dollars are gone, no more alrdy. Hehe. I learned in STATS 325 that no matter wat, it won't be easy to win lots la.

Take for instance, u got 30 bucks and u were to play a coin tossing game. In this game, if u toss a Head, u win 5 bucks and if u toss a Tail, u lose 5 bucks. U'll win when u reach 100 bucks. The probability that u lose all ur money is 70%!!

Well, that's statistics for u. Haha. Ok la, gotta go study!

It's been one week since I last blogged. I used to say "it's been 7 months since I last blogged". Times have changed. The past one week had been reallllllllly hectic. I had something due each day of the week! I really wondered how did I survived this. Monday, there was the ARENA documentation due. Tuesday, the Eigenproblems assignment due. Wednesday I've got the 355 project presentation and supposed-to-be-due 355 class wiki, which I spent the whole night doing, only to sleep at freakin 6 a.m! Haha. Thursday I had another presentation to prepare for, the 363 design strand project presentation. And last but not least, Friday, which is also today, I had four things due!! Two group reports, an individual reflection of a project and an assignment.

I really say, Engineering Science is not easy and relaxing compared to all other disciplines. Seriously, will die wei! Haha. Not only it's hard and tough. It's taxing too! But anyways, my first paper will be on the 30th October. So good luck to me!!

Today was quite a good day at first. :) Woke up early, did some studies, did my assignment and did the same assignment basically whole day and handed it up. One thing I was happy bout was that my friend (one of my group mate) acknowledged my hard work for the class wiki! :) He said smthg that made me so happy. He said "Thank you, KS! U rock. Btw I mentioned ur hard work on the wiki in the group reflections.". Well, he texted me la. Frankly speakin, I like recognition especially when I've done smthg. =P Gotta admit it felt great!

Well, after handing in my assignment, I went to Whitcoulls to get cards for Clarence and Meng. Both of them will hv their bday this coming Sunday! Tomorrow (Saturday) I'm gonna cook for them a hearty meal! :) Hope they'll like it. After purchasing the cards, I went back and took a nap! Was so tired. Woke up at bout 9 and watched tv. Relax a bit mar... Hehe. Then Meng came back with his friends. Played Texas Hold Em' with them. Then after a while, ended up blogging here.

For some reason, I dunno why now I'm actually feeling kinda emo. Which made me thought of lotsa stuffs. The past, the present and even the possible future. I almost always tell myself never to think so much but I just can't help it :( Oh well, one thing I know is that after I think think a bit, I'll be just fine after. :) Cuz at the end of the day, thinkin bout it wouldn't change anythg at all. It prolly even would juz make u feel sadder. So, yea. After finish thinkin bout it, never ever feel sad cuz there are still things to look forward to! Like tomorrow morning! Hehe.

Before I even know it, half of the month is already gone! Oh well, I hope time fast forward to November! I am so looking forward to the research I'm gonna do with Prof. Mallinson and Dr Mason! Hehe! It will be about capturing old movies onto film.

Anyways, today was really good. Morning slept until 930 am. Woke up, got ready and then went to Engsci comp labs. Met Jesse and there he was with all the 8 blades for our group's wind turbine. Went upstairs to level 5 to hacksaw it to length and weigh em all. Then he went to lecture. I basically got no lectures whole day so just sat down in front of the computer screen. Freakin 22 inch screen so huge see cant see finish oso! Haha. Read the star online while listening to one fm. Reminds me of those days when I worked in Serdang! :) Got sweet and bitter memories la that time.

Well, that was how I wasted like 2 hours. After that, I went back home to cook lunch. Had pasta and then watched some TV. Took a nap and woke up a bit late for the group meeting! Haha. The group meeting was to fix the blades onto the hub. So, I went straight back to Engsci comp labs to see how it went. All fixed apparently and it looks juz great! It's now kept at level 5, ready to be transported to the Tamaki campus wind tunnel for testing tomorrow.

At bout 330 pm, I went to a science colloquium in PLT1. A lecture was given by Dr Fewster bout random sampling in statistical methods in ecology. Hehe. It was quite interesting cuz she's a vy gud lecturer! She makes complicated theories understandable. I like those type of lecturers la! So, after the one hour talk, I went to Starbucks to get a cup of mocha and then proceed to the comp labs again.

I think most of my daily student life is spent in the computer labs la! Haha. Running simulations, writing codes, solving matrices by numerical methods etc etc. Well, I sat down and planned for the ARENA report which is due Monday. At bout 6, went back to cook dinner. Tonite's my turn after swapping with Meng. Cooked popcorn chicken and some mixed vege. I myslf had an egg before heading back to the comp labs AGAIN!

At the labs, Amelia and Hanieh actually asked if I have transport to the wind tunnel tomorrow! I was so surprised + happy. Cuz they acknowledge me as a friend! Haha. I not vy close to them before la but I felt that I actually have friends in my class now! So cool! They say "No one's gonna take the bus to the wind tunnel tomorrow, we will have enough cars." Actually I planned to do my report and complete it one. Who knows got last minute issues with our simulation model! -_-" Sat down with Faisal to correct those issues and then got evrythg organised. So, that would be our final model to hand in then. 10% lei. That's a lot of marks!

Faisal went home slightly before 10 pm and I went out of the lab with the others at bout 958pm. Walked out with Goh and we had a bit of a chat with Kwan-Ann too. Funny la this Goh! Haha. I like to tease him. Seeing his reactions make me so happy XD So, I left them two walking towards the uni while I head to Sharon's place. Went there to get her memory card and then went up to her place juz to chat with the rest in her apartment. Who knows ended up sitting down watching netball together. Haha. NZ won the gold medal btw. It is for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Anyways, after that, I came back home. Continue planning my report and now it's all done! Just have to type it out now :) I'm actually quite looking forward to tomorrow cuz we're gonna go test out our wind turbine in Tamaki! Gonna bring my camera to record. Hehe. So, good night yea! Gotta go to bed now.

Whoa..... Today was really exciting towards the end of the day! -_-"" Exciting as in make me pening pening kepala! Haha. Aiks~

Morning wake up early and did my assignment. Did part of it and went to the assistance centre to ask some questions. Then went to lecture. After that lecture, bought some sushi for lunch. Same ole' salmon sushi. Went to computer labs did the unfinished assignment and managed to finish and hand in on time.

Today was really windy and vy vy chilly. Got sun like no sun. The temperature outside now is about 9 degree Celcius but it feels like 6 according to metservice.co.nz. Anyway, after staying at the labs until bout 6 pm, I went back home to cook my lunch for the next few days. Then, took a short nap. Woke up and had dinner.

After that, sat down in front of the computer. Was happily chit chatting and suddenly received a message from Angie! She kinda expressed her concern that we all had made a very bad mistake by not expressing our disagreement to Hui Wen that she's wrong by appointing Mei Yen as UMSA secretary! -_-" I was so nervous at that time cuz I think I am at fault here of misunderstanding a lot of thgs.... And also felt bad for putting Hui Wen in such a position.

Angie's concerns were if Wen were to do it like this, in the future, the president might abuse his/her power by appointing his/her friends. But to be honest, I never really thought of all these. At times, I really dunno why a simple non-profit Malaysian students union can turn out to be such a hassle. Is it because there exist people who are complicated who will misuse the club? Cuz we know we might not do it but there are people out there who will take advantage of it. So, we gotta be prepared for those people. Lazy day today! Sunday mar. Can't help it. Haha. But then I woke up early cuz need to do research before having group meeting. So, after research and breakfast, went to Engsci computer labs. Had the meeting from 1030 am till about 1230 pm. Typed the meeting minutes, sent it to everyone and head back home. Cooked pasta for myself and watched tv! Hehe

It was some scary movie. Then after that felt really tired. So, had a nap. Woke up at around 630 pm. Got ready and went out again. This time it was Chris' birthday surprise! We managed to surprise him outside his apartment. We then went to La Porchetta to have our dinner. Lily, Tet Chuan, Morgan, Nick, Helen, Tommy and Chris were there. I had Carbonara Fettucine. Nice and filling!

After dinner, we all walked to Orange to play pool! We played the usual pool and dynamic pool! A new game I learned. Haha. Basically each one in the team gets to take a shot before the ball stops. Once the ball stops without each teammate taking a shot then the team's turn is passed on. So, either everyone took a shot or the ball stops before everyone takes a shot before the turn is passed.

Now, I'm studying! Gosh... I am feeling so guilty la. Haha. At the same time feeling so sleepy. Aiks! I still have this stats assignment due Tuesday! T.T Cannot cannot! Muz have determination! :) So, yea. After this post, I'll carry on with my work! So, gudnite!!

At that time, I was still staying in Cendana (Seksyen 6 in Shah Alam). Life was pretty bad without much to eat but I got a car from my parents! Hehehe~ Lucky me! Anyways, setting the sad part of life aside, I actually have tons of great friends there! They are the ones who kept me company and we joked and laughed. That night, we were singing and chatting at Jack's room. Then I forgot what I did already. I think I went back to my room and studied.

In Cendana also, at first I had Jay Sern and the rest. We would all go out pasar malam buy food every Tuesday and eat in Jay Sern's room. But after he left for US, I was lonely. Not long later I hang out with my own course mates. We would go out eat dinner together and basically that's how life was la! I also remember the lake there which I will go jog at. Well, if u ask me which time I reli reli would like to go back to, it's those days at INTEC la. Those were the days I have a car to go around! Hahaha.

Nothing much interesting today. Just like any other normal days. However, it was usually long today. Left home at roughly 10 and went to the computer lab. Did some discussion with group mates and then left for the Engsci fourth year project presentations. Did some listening and then went to the prize giving for the WHD photography competition. I won a "highly commended" award! :) It isn't much but it's something to start with.

Anyways, after that I went back to the presentations to eat free lunch! Hehe. Aiyo, Malaysian mar... Can't help it! After lunch, went to lecture and then go buy coffee. Studied at the business school while sipping coffee. Then had a meeting with some of the new UMSA committees with Hui Wen. Talked to them, gave advice etc etc.

Then at bout 8 pm only go back home. Hu~ Long day eh? Came back continue practise my singing and then did a bit of ARENA (a simulation package). Then now blogging. Later feel like reading some books. Then only go tidur!

This was taken 3 years plus ago! Just look at how time flies! :) Shin Hoon, Jia Ji, Jack and Phui Kuan are in the photo with me. This was taken somewhere in Ulu Selangor. That place's nice! Cuz there's this dam built there and that's why there's this lake. Looks juz like a lake in NZ. Only the water's dark green.

Anyways, this pic was taken at a camp called Kem Bina Insan (Character Building Camp). It was a 3 days 2 nights camp which was reallllllyyyy boring for us. We just sat there do nothing. -_-" Some of us brought cards to play thank goodness! After the camp, I followed Jack to Penang and I did have fun but also bad experiences! Till next time only tell you all what happened la. It's a looooong story!

Past few days have been getting things done and having some fun at the same time! :) Saturday (2nd October) was AGM and Hui Wen was elected UMSA President 2011. Will be looking forward to next year! Very ambitious, very good! I will give you my fullest support! Then after AGM, went to play paintball and had loads of fun. But as I was having fun, it kinda meant I didn't do my supposed-to-do work la! And so, whole day Sunday (3rd October) did work. It was all about computational techniques (Euler, Improved Euler and fourth order Runge-Kutta). DIdn't sleep much that night cuz I thought the due date's Monday! T.T

Well, enough said of the weekend! Today, I woke up early but had enough sleep! Oh, it's been a while since I slept properly. :) I woke up a happy guy and head to uni. Got my report printed and handed it in, all complete! After my first lecture, I was hungry and went to have some kebab and chips. Was eating alone and the feeling kinda sux la :( Oh well... Juz glad that tday I didn't have coffee! Haha. After lunch, went to next lecture and then head back home to take a nap.

Who knows I reach home alrdy, didn't take nap but practised guitar. But it was needed la! I am performing this Friday in the Engineering Level 3 Cafe! OMG, so nervous wei!!!! Well, after singing while playing guitar, I went to lab at bout 2pm. At the lab, discussed project with friends and not only one but two projects. -_-"

After all that stuff, came back to cook. Tonight's actually my turn to cook. I cooked chicken curry and baked pumpkin. Had it with rice. Then after that I sang whole night. Felt a bit lazy to study la! :P So, tmrw la..... Hahaha. Die la if continue liddat.

Anyways, yesterday I heard a story from my lecturer which I think was quite true.

One day in ancient China there's this man who was traveling. He was walking up in the mountains. Suddenly a tiger saw him and started chasing after him. So, he ran and ran until he reaches a cliff with a tree. He climbed it and the tiger leaped onto the tree. So, he climbed further until he reaches the end of a branch. He saw this grape vine and grabbed it and hang on it. At that time the tiger was on the tree trying to reach for him. He looked below, there is a river far down but was infested with crocodiles. He looked above, there the tiger is waiting to eat him. Then after a while, he noticed two mouse biting the grape vine! How unfortunate! And so, he started to pray. He prayed "Lord Buddha, please tell me what can I do right now?". Lord Buddha answered "Eat the grapes...".

Moral of the story? No matter how harsh life is to you, do not frown and think about it too much as you will be blinded and miss the happy things even if it is right in front of you. Most importantly, live life to the fullest!

Today wanna say sad oso cannot, wanna say happy oso not really. So I guess I'm feeling normal today. The day's same as everyday. Only today don't have lectures for ENGSCI 331. And it was my last time attending an UMSA meeting as the President! I will definitely miss those days la!

I guess I won't be talking about what I did today. Would just like to say that I think people tend to make judgments without seeing the bigger picture or just base on what others think. That is why I think there is always 3 sides to a story - your version, my version and the truth. Then again, you may choose to seek the truth but in reality, you would just settle down with either "my version" or "your version". It is just like tossing a coin and it will land on either sides. Easier right? But then... Seeking the truth is just like waiting for the coin to land on neither sides (standing vertically). This is cuz people bend the truth. What's true to you may not be true to others. That's how people get confused. That's also why in my opinion, being able to listen, make judgments and weighing possibilities are so important nowadays.

Not only that, I think that evidence and proof is also important. I guess that is why we learn at least two types of proofs in Statistics or Mathematics. I quote Grissom in CSI, "the evidence never lie". Well, then again, that's my version of the story. You can have your version and think that it's true. So, how? I guess in the end of the day, you just have to decide for yourself!

Another thing I learned today also is that whatever people think or decide, let it be independent of what you think of yourself. You define yourself and don't let others' opinions on you defeat you! To give up halfway through cuz of what others think is to show them that they are controlling you. Just treat those opinions as constructive and don't ponder or be sad over it for too long because when you are emo or sad, the tears or anger will shroud your sight off any opportunity that passes at any moment.

Enough said and I should go back to my research! Die la tmrw... -_-" ENGSCI 363!! Design project... Turbine blade design ar! T.T

Look at how much I have grown. This was taken at KLIA nearly 3 years back! That day was the day I leave for for Auckland, New Zealand to start a new chapter in my life. I wasn't sure how is it gonna be but was looking forward and feeling excited as well as nervous. It will be the first time I am sooooo far away from home and in university, no one will force u to do ur work or to remind u unless u got friends la. So, that's the challenging part - learning to be independent.

Three years later, now, I have grown so much physically, mentally and characteristically! Haha. All thanks to the people I have met throughout the way and the experiences I encountered on the way here.

This day had been one of the best days I've had so far! Woke up in the morning quite early and had been looking forward for this day actually. At bout 1130 a.m. went to get the Baju Melayu from Qayyum. It was for the AUSA Clubs Ball. UMSA was nominated for the Best Cultural Club Award. Apparently, this club awards thingy had been goin on since 2009. I'm pretty proud that UMSA has been nominated cuz it means our efforts are recognised!

Well, in the afternoon, I had my lunch, watched a couple of anime and oops, I didn't do work! Haha. Slacker! Then I went to take a nap. After a while, received a call from mummy and then went back to nap. After a few minutes, Hui Wen's text came. -_-" she's alrdy downstairs. There goes my nap.... Haha.

Hui Wen came up and when she was gonna prepare for the ball tonite, she got news that her stilettos are missing! Omigosh.... So, instead of preparing for the ball, we went to look for it at Yuvha's place. Not long later, Lucy arrived and I had to walk her to Empire cuz she wanted a place to prepare and put on her make up. Poor Hui Wen couldn't find her stilettos. Anyways, we all prepared and went to Forte to meet up with the rest.

We all walked to the venue. It was outside of the Old Government House. AUSA had canopies set up. They had dances, food and beverages. It was kinda cheap but of course the food sux! Only the beverages are nice. :P Well, I was a bit disappointed when UMSA didn't win the award but, nvm! Cuz at least we're recognised and it's up to next year to get that award. We have all come up with a plan alrdy :)

Well, after the ball, we all went to Hulu Cat and had sooooo much fun there! Created a new game called the Bimbo Game! Haha. We stayed there until around 1 or 2 and then we parted ways. Hui Wen and me went back to Empire while the rest (Farz, Justin, Nicola and Kelvin) went to Countdown. Jie Huei left earlier. And yea, that's kinda all for today. :) The Bimbo Game at Hulu Cat w as the most unforgettable experience la! Haha.

Today was a vy vy vy happy day for me! Guess wat? I got a summer research studentship offer!! Yes yes yes!! I can't believe it when Dr Walker came to tell me. He's like "U're KS? I've sent u an e-mail regarding a studentship u're been offered. So, please reply me by the end of the day." And I'm like :) Yeah!!! I will reply now! Haha.

Ok, that was after the presentation la. The presentation went on ok only. Wasn't as good cuz I can see the faces of my groupmates weren't that impressed. I wonder why. Prolly they all aim quite high eh. I think our presentation was all good actually. The flow was good, not much questions were asked and the lecturer was happy with our answer to his question. Anyways, what's over's over. Let's think of the future and cherish the present instead!

After all that, it was ENGSCI 363, Modelling and Design II. In this paper, we were required to design a wind turbine and to test it in the Tamaki Campus' wind tunnel. Boy am I excited bout it! But now, seems to have quite a few problems with the calculations cuz of the tip speed ratio, the rotor radius and both induction factors. We told the lecturer and he said that he'll have a think about it and tell us on Monday. Which is good cuz we got more slack time!! Hahaha.

After everythg, I went back and have a good good nap! Slept for like 1 hour plus with the music on. Hui Wen came juz now to use the bath and we got prepared for the UMSA Pre-AGM. It was at 6 p.m. in the Engineering Cafe. Not many people turned up but guess what? All the people who turned up decided to run for a committee post Haha. Good good! Then after Pre-AGM, I went to the Noodle Shop to meet up with Meng and all. Had dinner, which was on Darrel cuz he got the studentship too.

Next will be on me alrdy la! Haha. But anyways, after dinner, we all came back and played Zero Hour and then I did laundry and packed my room. Now blogging and gonna sleep soon le! :) SO, good nite yea!

I think the most significant for today is that I played bridge with juniors until 6 am in the day! Haha. Thgs were really great but there were some sad times too. I am glad UMSA was nominated for the Best Cultural Club in AUSA but I was sad that I haven't got any summer studentship! Anyways, I baked a cheese cake last Saturday over at Huia. It was for Jiayan's birthday on last Sunday. Sin Yee asked me to go eat the cake as she saved some for me. So, I went to Huia.

I reached at bout 8 p.m., really really hungry! So, I gobbled the cake down my throat! After that, I felt like goin out for supper plus the juniors were hungry too. So, we went out ler! Sin Yee, Jiayan and Jia Yuan went out with me. They had burger from White Lady (apparently quite famous one here). And then we walked to Momotea. They finished their burger before entering the premises.

In Momotea, Jia Yuan taught me bridge and we started playing. It was so addictive! We played until about 12 I think. Then went back to Huia. I stayed there to chat with them until quite late and then started playing bridge again! OMG.....

Play play play.... Until it was 5:30 a.m.!!! Haha. Oops~ And guess wat? I am gonna have a group presentation the next day! Well, I went back and the sun was alrdy up and the skies were bright. I slept for a while until 9:30... FML XD

Sunday, 14 September 2008 3:59 a.m. That was when this photo was taken. Right through my bedroom window in Grafton Hall. The moon was shining so brightly through my window it woke me up in the middle of the night! Believe it or not, it is TRUE! That bright white light's the moon. No kidding, no effects! I suddenly woke up and the moon was there shining on my face.

Amazing eh? That was mid-autumn in 2008 la. After that, I had to draw the curtains and go to bed. I wonder how on earth did the moon get so bright wei! Maybe who knows that's a UFO? Hehe. Think too much la!

Whoa! Happy day today ar! Haha. Morning woke up pretty early judging by the time I slept previous day. Had a decent breakfast after dunno how long ago alrdy. Started off my day by blogging bout yesterday. Then studied for my STATS 325 test (it was at 2 pm). After that, went to lab. After the lab, had a group discussion on our presentation slides this coming Friday.

After the meeting, I came home to have lunch. It was yesterday nite's leftover chicken and salted fish fried rice. Yummy la! But expensive :( Anyways, I went to uni at round 145 pm and took my test at 2 pm. Soon after, I made my way to the Quad to get a cup of Mocha! Oh yeah!! So nice....

On the way back, I met Farz and went to her lecture with her. Thermofluids! Brings back the memories la. Haha. Boring lecturer! After the lecture, I came back home and started singing with my guitar. Then after a while, decided to do work until Hui Wen called. We talked a bit and she was so excited! Haha. I am too I am too!

Wat am I excited about? UMSA's nominated for the AUSA Clubs Ball Best Cultural Club award! First time lei! Being the President, I am really really proud that I have a group of people who worked hard with me to attain this nomination! Now, have to pray that we win it. :) *fingers crossed*

Besides that, I also received another good news that the results of the studentship has not yet been finalised! I still got chance!!! Hehe! Okok. For now, I just wanna go to bed and read my book then go sleep lo! Good nite, people! And happy mid-autumn!

Bringing the juniors out early this year was one of the fun things I looked forward to. This year I brought this group of juniors to Rangitoto Island and Devonport. It kinda lasted the whole day and I took loads of photos too. Had fish and chips at Devonport. It kinda saddens me a bit cuz next year, JPA'll be having the last batch of students being sent overseas for studies. But maybe sending them to local uni will be a good move too la... We'll see!

By right this was supposed to go up yesterday but I was so busy yesterday! In fact these few days I have been so occupied with work! I thought it would be generally more easier after the UMSA Ball but who knows it is actually the contrary. Sigh~ Anyways, yesterday I woke up quite early considering what time I slept the previous nite! Haha. I know, I shouldn't sleep so late but that's what student life is about! :P

Then I skipped lectures to do assignments due yesterday. Managed to finish up the two assignments and handed both in but had a late lunch. Went to the Quad to collect the two AUSA Clubs Ball tickets and then went straight back home. Did some UMSA stuffs pertaining to the Constitution and Pre-AGM and then *zzzzzz* 2 hours later, I opened my eyes realising it's already 10 pm! Gosh, I was that tired eh...

Well, after that I just watched some anime and Han Meng was watching this Belgian movie called Bo but I didn't watch it. Just took some glances while studying for a test today! STATS325. After doing a past year, I did some reading and went to bed ler!

Plus I just only get to heat up my presidency seat alrdy got so many problems need to solve. Haha. Anyways, this pic is the Orientation BBQ that UMSA had.

Photo courtesy from Hui Wen and this event has been planned mostly by Hui Wen. Event success, everyone was happy! Good job! :) I was relieved too of course. All the other committees also did their job well. It rained though so had to carry out plan B. Too bad that time didn't really get to eat the sausages la! So hungry that time. :( I was like running here and there with Jack or even alone smtimes to get this and that, sort this and everyone was basically busy running around too.

It was all good experience la! The satisfaction I got from after the event was also priceless! And now, I am gonna pass down my seat le... Wa~ so fast lei!

Long day today! Slept late yesterday nite. Was reading a book I juz bought and read till halfway, eyes juz closed. Woke up at around 9 a.m. Then got ready and went to Engsci labs to finish up on the last few things of my AMPL documentation (report in other words). Got evrythg done and handed up. Then after finish labs, went back home and sat in front of my lappy stared at the screen for quite some time. After that, I juz took up my guitar and started playing some songs!

Then later in the afternoon, it started to rain. I still thought it would be sunny and that I can go to Albert Park to take some photos! But who knows the weather changed so fast!! In the end, I juz went there to pass Chris from AMS a cd for UMSA's performance tmrw evening. Then later went to grab a cup of mocha while waiting for Sin Yee. She wanted to have a surprise cake for Jia Yan. So, asked my help to bake cake ler!

After grocery shopping, I walked to Mt Terrace to carry the bamboo for our performance practice at iSpace. While walking up Anzac Ave and Symonds St, had quite a good chat with Sin Yee. After I reach Mt Terrace, stayed there for a while over at Sharon's place while waiting for Anderson, Edwin, Ann and Farz. WHen they were all here, suddenly it rained so heavily! Wind was like so so strong too!

At that time I was thinking "Ok... So this is the storm eh?" Apparently a vy bad storm's approaching some parts of Auckland. Seems like these few days will have strong gales... Oh btw, today I was kinda traumatised by smthg which had happened and it got me thinking life's fragile and malang tidak berbau! A small tree twig actually hit me on my forehead like so suddenly! Some of u may think this is nothing but then I was a bit shocked. I was thinking "what if that was not a twig but a branch?". I may even have ended up in the hospital eh. Or even forget who I am after that -_-|| But anyway, I'm grateful that I'm alright la! :) Just that it really reflects how much life is as precious and worth living to the fullest!

Tired to blog today :( Why? Cuz I just received an e-mail saying I'm not accepted to do the Summer Studentship with the university...... That's sad but what to do?! My result aren't that outstanding as the others! But anyways, I think now I would need to come up with some plans to spend my holidays here in NZ.

Well, looking at the bright side, I get to relax la. :) Have to study harder now! Soon I'm gonna put down a very big burden off my shoulders and I will definitely have more time to do what I am really passionate at in my academics!

This was taken slightly more than a year ago in the Huka Prawn Farm in Taupo. My first catch! :) That time I was having my Spring break and Jay Sern, my brother came to visit me in NZ. We went prawn fishing instead of bungy jumping by the way... Hehe! In the end we caught 7 prawns all together but it took us about 3 - 4 hours.

Soon after the meal, we went back to Auckland and I think we were quite tired that time. I miss Jay Sern... I miss my family and friends back in BP! And I most probably won't be going back end of this year. Which means I won't be seeing them until CNY ler! Also, I am really grateful for the Air Asia ticket ler.. If not, I wouldn't have had the chance to even go back during CNY cuz it's so expensive.

Finally I finished my target work! :) Happy but very tired already. However tired, still have to blog! OK, today woke up quite early la. About 915 a.m. Then go Engsci labs to discuss the ENGSCI 355 project with groupies. Well, for this project (and other projects), I kinda didn't get to contribute much. A bit disappointed plus a bit guilty. Disappointed cuz was thinking why are they so smart and get to learn things so fast? Guilty cuz they do so much, I do so little. But of course, thinking negatively won't help at all! So, I always think positively la. First, they not so smart, is I not enough time and energy to study! :P And they do so much now, I can do other things later mar. So, all good! :)

After the discussions, I went to a lecture. Nearly dozed off... :( Muz be the late nights I have been having recently. Anyways, after the lecture, went to grab a cup of Mocha. Then met Vimalan queuing up at Jewel of India. So, I joined him for lunch. Chicken Korma I ordered and we had our meals in the Recreation Centre while watching people play futsal. Out of the sudden, Edwin came along out of nowhere. We chatted a while and then went off separately.

I then go back to the Engsci labs and continue on my ENGSCI 355. Stayed there from 230 p.m. right up till about 8 p.m. Didn't really feel the time pass by also lo... And while I was walking back home, "I don't know" by Daniel Lee was played on my mp3 player. One of my favourite songs and it kinda cheered me up! :)

Other than that, it made me realised why I have been so stressed everytime. I found that the reason was really simple! Given a task, if I can see the solutions, I won't be stressed. In other context, I will be stressed if I am lost and alone.... Well, who doesn't fear lonliness eh? Anyways, glad that I have found the answer. Now I can work towards overcoming it or preventing it.

Well, now it is time to sleep la! Better go to bed already. Good night people!

Bersatu Games planning started since last year. This was taken last year! June's handwriting. This was the initial list of sports played and also the venue which most likely we would wanna have it at (ASB). The final confirmed list of sports played includes basketball, handball, badminton, volleyball, futsal, soccer, touch rugby, frisbee, sepak takraw and netball.

Time really flies. Now, I am already nearly gonna pass my power down to the next President! Haha. Am kinda missing doing my job and miss being busy and stressed already la. But at the same time, I am also feeling relieved la. At times, I would also reminisce those times when I had to think bout all those problems which gave me sleepless nites!

Today was the first day of uni after the Spring break. I was a lil' nervous plus a lil' looking forward too! Past few days I have not been myself and have been kinda like running away a lot. But then after some thinking and self-motivation, I managed to stand up on my feet again! I did my laundry yesterday cuz it was piling up and then did my bed, arranged my desk and cupboard. Got everything organised as it was before I left for the break.

OK! So, in the morning I went to lectures to find out that it was canceled! Gosh, lecturer didn't send an e-mail! Ish... But anyways, I left to 70 Symonds St to look through some of my AMPL codes for one of my projects. After that, continued with lectures until lunch time. Had lunch with Tet Chuan and Chris. After lunch, I stayed at the Quad, looking at some Tongan performance. They were quite good singers and dancers!

After that, went to today's last lecture, STATS 325 after a cup of coffee. Kept me awake quite long actually. So, after the class, I went to 70 Symonds St to continue on my AMPL model and then only I went to UMSA meeting at 6. Got quite a few things to discuss because Edwin didn't really plan the Laser Strike properly. Anyways, all things settled at the moment! So, still good la!

After meeting, went to Sharon's place to practice a Malaysian patriotic song, Sejahtera Malaysia. Gonna perform it during the Auckland Malaysian Society's Malaysia Day event this coming Saturday night.

After singing, had a talk with Sharon about lotsa things from iPhone to stress to assignments to UMSA etc etc la! Haha. Didn't even notice time pass by so fast. A while already 12 a.m. So, I went back home and took a shower. And here I am now blogging! Well, I'm gonna go to bed soon la. Vy tired today! Feel like having a good good sleep! Good night ppl!!

Second day in Christchurch. Slept really late yesterday cuz was chatting with Choon Seng, Angeline and Shirley. Surprisingly I was able to open my eyes automatically at about 7 plus! Then at that moment, the whole room shook!! I actually felt an earthquake! Haha. Pardon me for being such a country bumpkin but I have never felt it before mar. :P Well, then I continued to sleep until quite late in the morning. Woke up, prepared myself and then went to have brunch.

We had brunch in a place called Foo San. Dim sum. Over there, met a few Lincoln people and they actually still remember me! Haha. Feels so good to be an important figure or a big shot eh! :) But with great power comes great responsibilities la. So, yeah. The trade-off would be the stress that I would get. But in the end, it's the priceless experience that counts gua. And the people we meet along the way.

So, after brunch, we went downtown to witness the effects of the quake. Parts of the town were locked down and some places were deserted. We walked and walked, I took and took many photos. Until it was about 5 p.m. I was craving for coffee! I gotta keep awake to do my assignments! So, went around la. Who knows, all the coffee shops are closed! I was like "WTH?!" And so, we went to Riccarton Mall. Guess what? Yes, closed! But thank goodness there was Coffee Culture, which is the only place open! Yeash!!!

So, got my coffee, happy man, drove back home ler. Went to Choon Seng's place and he cooked. Mmmm... Yummy! After dinner, went to ESR to continue my assignment and that's all for today I guess!

I made a wish on the 6th to wanna stay back for one day at Tekapo... Who knows my wish came true! WTH!! Haha... Found some problems with the car brakes and sent it for repairs at the local mechanic... Don't have to pay for a thing but I had to stay back at Tekapo until the evenings, at bout 5 pm before leaving... So, whole day I basically napped at the backpackers' common room, played the piano there, did studying and went to the lake to throw some stones... Hehe...

At 5, my car was repaired and I drove to Christchurch! Throughout the journey, it was a bit scary but I was alert the whole time! Seems very dangerous too... I tried my best to not drive at night so much, I planned so perfectly but in the end still have to drive at night due to some unforseen circumstances! Sad eh...

Driving at night was a hell of an experience especially when I am ALL ALONE!! Firstly, I thought I saw a ghost... It happened like this... I was driving and needed to make a right turn... So, I need to slow down la... But then near the junction, I noticed something hovering... It was some black and brown object and it was nearly dark already (late evening)... I was like O.O and scared... I prayed la... and as I approach the object.... Cheh! It's just a cyclist... Wth.. Haha!

Ok, then I continued la... Drove and drove, it rained... I had to lean forward to see the road... Tough wei! After the rain, it got pretty cold in some places... So, there was fog too... Plus the highlights from the car in the opposite direction blinded me nearly the whole time... I drove and drove hoping to reach Christchurch ASAP!

And so I did... reached at Choon Seng's place at bout 8 p.m... Then had dinner at Ancestral (a Malaysian eatery with a ktv too)... Very salty la... -_-|| Then, I went to visit some of my friends at Ilam village... Fun bunch of people! Haha... Calvin missed me so much that he ran towards me to gimme a hug... Siew Ping, Liying and Bernard were there as well... I can't deny that I used to wish I was sent to Christchurch instead... Hehe... This was because all my good friends were sent here lo...

But having said that, I also enjoyed Auckland and if I were not at Auckland, I wouldn't be who I am now and I wouldn't have met all the great people I met when I'm at Auckland... So yeah! It would be different if I were to be staying in Christchurch lo... :)

Well, after Ilam VIllage, me, Choon Seng and his gf Shirley drove to ESR to meet Angeline... We chatted till late night while waiting for an aftershock... Ended up I had to stay over at ESR for the night... Haha... Slept at bout 4 - 5 am... Then I actually felt an earthquake! Oh yeah!!! I wanna feel it again! Hehe... Funny how people wanna avoid it but I actually wanna feel it... Aiks~

Left Dunedin at bout 10 am to Tekapo... First time driving alone + the unwillingness of leaving Dunedin = EMO!! Haha... Anyways, I got over it soon after la... My pen drive actually kept me company throughout the journey to Tekapo... I stopped at quite a few places before reaching Tekapo... Took quite a lot of photos too... Managed to reach Lake Tekapo just in time for the sunset! At Tekapo, I met a few Malaysians too... All here on a working holiday... They helped me take some photos...

After taking some shots by the lake, I went back to prepare dinner... The pumpkin that Adeline bought at the farmers' market was still in my car... So, I decided to bake it! Had quite a nice dinner that night... Then did some studying and went to bed... Nothing much in Tekapo cuz it was cloudy! If not, maybe still can see stars lei...

Last day in Dunedin... Had very good talk with Adeline and Yang... :) Very windy day, a bit gloomy the whole day but not not raining la... Didn't do much other than chatting... Then later for dinner, we had Turkish at Yilmaz... After dinner, we went to have some drinks at some cafe in the Octagon... Didn't do much that day... Had a good sleep and kinda sad cuz have to leave Dunedin... :(

But looked forward to meeting my Christchurch friends!

Nice weather finally!! This was when I decided to bake a cake, cook the 3-course-meal I promised Yang and also went around town to go take some photos... In the morning, Adeline brought me to the farmers' market and I had some kebabs and also crepe... Very nice lo! Hehe... Then later we went to but the ingredients I need to bake and cook...

After that, Adeline and Yang brought me to their uni and I had a tour basically... After the tour, went to Yang's place and I cooked! :) Brief post for this day.....

Early in the morning made some sandwiches and had breakfast at backpackers... Then left Queenstown! We headed to Arrowtown and it was such a nice place there! Didn't expect that actually... Anyways, we didn't go to Wanaka but instead stopped at Arrowtown to have a French breakfast... Yang decided to replace her fast for that day and tried the French breakfast...

After breakfast, we had to leave for Dunedin fast... So, basically throughout the journey, poor Adeline and Yang got so carsick that both of them slept throughout most of the journey... From Queenstown to Dunedin, there were hail and I think a bit of snow and rain! It was so amazing but roads were really winding...

When we reached Dunedin, we had dinner at Hanami (a hangout for the Dunedin Asians)... Also, I met Tim and Jie Ning... Both were friendly people! :) Hope to be able to meet them again... Anyways, after dinner, we went to Angus to have dessert... After dessert, everyone was tired and so decided to skip karaoke... Went back to sleep instead...

That morning, I kinda prepared breakfast and lunch at the same time! :) Used the bread that Yang bought... Slit it and spread some peanut butter and honey inside it... Baked it and that's for breakfast! Without forgetting the coffee... :) Then prepared lunch also (same ole sandwiches)... So, we drove out of Te Anau towards Queenstown...

Halfway through, I remembered that I wanna let Adeline try to drive... Ok, so she took over the wheels... We were happily driving until Adeline took over at a yellow line, which I think later someone complained... The NZ police were so efficient and caught up with us... Got fined... Oh well... lesson learned! Haha... Then we continue to Queenstown...

At Queenstown, we checked in the backpackers and then went walking around the city... A very nice place but seems quite crowded! A lot of people were there cuz it was the holiday... People generally go there to do skiing and snowboarding... And also those adventurous activities... That night, we had dinner at an Indian restaurant... Then later had chocolate dessert at a chocolate place by the harbour... After all that, we head back to the backpackers...

Had a good chat with Yang while Adeline slept... Cant believe we chatted for like 2 - 3 hours! Haha...

Woke up pretty early today cuz I decided to prepare lunch for me and Adeline... I went to the supermarket in Wong Way and bought some ham, cottage cheese, tomatoes and lettuce... Made a few sandwiches while Adeline prepared her famous soy milk coffee which kept me awake while I'm driving! :) Thanks for that!

Anyways, we set off to Manapouri to catch out ferry to Doubtful Sound... Basically we spent the whole day on the trip... First off, we took a ferry across Lake Manapouri, which was kinda foggy but not raining... Though it's foggy, it actually created a whole new set of perspective to the scenery there! Very mysterious and it kinda gives the mountains a very different feel... I liked it la...

So, yeah... we seen water, mountains, trees, islands, seals and dolphins! :) We were lucky to have seen dolphins... It rained a little that day but despite, we had fun and I took loads of nice photos, mostly were portraits a... :P We also went to the Manapouri underground hydro power station, which is part of the trip... Then later after the trip, we went back to Te Anau...

After buying some groceries, I cooked all of us a meal... Thanks to Clarence for the inspiration and cooking lessons... Haha... So, after the meal, we all got into our room and started chatting! Who knows we laughed too loud and our neighbour got annoyed and asked us to be quiet! Oops~ Sorry.... But it was only like 9 pm!! :( Welcome to New Zealand, I guess....

Anyways, we went to bed soon after...

Okok~ Very tired typing already but it's only the 3rd day! Haha... So, we drove all the way from Dunedin to Catlins to Invercargil then towards Te Anau... Adeline said that I must go to Catlins and that place is seriously stunning! But vy windy la... Haha... After Catlins, we went on to Invercargil and had our lunch there in Queen's Park... Except Yang who's fasting... Took some photos there and then left that town towards Te Anau... We then caught the sunset from Lake Manapouri before arriving at Te Anau just nice for check in by 7 p.m... I really must say I have quite good estimation skills! :P

That day I did quite a lot of driving and taking photos... Yang and Adeline did quite a lot of singing, sleeping and car-sick-ing... Poor thing la... Aiks~ If only NZ roads are not so winding.... If only I can drive gentler.... Sorry~~ Anyways, Te Anau is such a dead place! There's ony like to restaurants open that night and we went to an Italian place... I regretted adding too much cheese to my pasta and I was so full! The result of being too hungry and over estimating! Haha...

After dinner, we went to the only supermarket there addressed at Wong Way... Yeah, Wong Way! I can soooo say this in a hong kong accent... "Don't go there! It's the wong way...!" Haha... At that time the supermarket was closed so we didn't get to buy our breakfast and lunch for the next day... So, we decided to head towards the lake... Drove there but cant see anything cuz it was pitch black! But but but.... When we looked up the sky, it was just like when I was in Kaitaia... I can see the Milky way! Gosh it was stunning... I have always dreamed of star gazing with my future other half! :) So romantic right??

Anyways, after star gazing, we went back to backpackers... Chatted a bit and then went to bed! Oh and surprisingly, I actually met Natalee there in the backpackers! How coincident was that?! Such a small world la... Haha...

Ok, fast fast.... Need to do assignment later! On this day, woke up pretty early to go grab the car I rented with Ace Rentals... Walked all the way there, got a Nissan Sunny... Then, went to fetch Adeline and then Yang... Basically, this day I kinda drove around some parts of Dunedin... The weather was still sad and gloomy plus wet!

First stop, we went to Signal Hill and had some jumping shots taken... They told me from there can see the whole Dunedin but on that day, all I saw was white..... Fog la basically... Haha... So, we juz posed a bit and took some photos... Then we went downtown to the Otago Museum... Adeline said one hour is all we need and really chun chun one hour wor! Haha... Ok, after that me and Adeline went to have lunch at this Indian place at Hanover Street opposite to Meridian mall, which I think is cheap and nice!

Then we drove on to see Larnach Castle and also an aquarium somewhere on the way to Harington Point... Didn't get to see much due to the weather lo... Sad but nvm! Cuz I was goin back to Dunedin... So, we left the places and went back to city to buy snacks needed for our road trip... That night we had dinner in a Turkish place in city called Nesli Kebab... Very nice and people there are friendly too! After dinner, I think we had a good chat at Yang's place and then went back to our respective places to sleep...

I have been away for the past 8 or 9 days... Was away on a Spring break trip... Had internet but was too tired to blog... So, here's a one shot recap of what happened!

29 August, the day after the UMSA Ball 2010! So relieved of everything, thanks to Jack who helped me make sure all the hirings are returned... Besides that, I think the UMSA Ball has loads to improve lo! Problems with people arriving late (a Malaysian thing I guess) and also problems with the program flow... Not enough time until need to cancel our committee choir! But having said all those and being so stressed that night, I am glad that everything fell into place... I really really need to thank my whole committee for doing such a good job in making this a good event! In my opinion, it can be considered a success la! :) Kudos everyone!

Well, morning of the 29th, I woke up early at bout 9 - 10 plus and went to print all my itineraries and also information on the trip... Next, took a shower and waited for Lee Ah Sam to fetch me and Darrel to the airport... I thought I got there late but actually just nice wor! Haha... Checked in my luggage and my first wife (my fx340c)... Both weighing bout 18 kg wor! Flew Pacific Blue from Auckland domestic airport to Dunedin intl' airport... Took about 1 hour 40 minutes I think... Reached Dunedin and it was rainy and gloomy! Then I took a shuttle to the city and checked in Central Backpackers, which is only like a stone's throw away from Octagon (the city centre)... Yes, Dunedin is a city... A student city! :)

I actually don't mind the weather because Adeline and Yang (my newfound friends whom I got to know from Bersatu Games) made me a very sumptuous dinner! Got roast lamb leg, belacan carrot and long beans, Hainanese chicken rice, sparkling grape juice and kiwi pavlova! Nice eh? Cus it was raining cats and dogs outside, we kept warm at Yang's place in Toroa College the whole nite, chatting all the way...

That nite, me and Adeline took a cab back to our respective places... Cost about 12 bucks... Had a warm shower and went straight to bed! All set for tomorrow! :) Btw, sorry got no pic of the day today! Cuz I am gonna do a one-shot-recap-for-all-day blogging!

This was taken early this year... So, not very long time ago... It was taken in Melbourne when I was waiting for time to pass... I was actually waiting to meet up with Lyn Ley, Charlene and Brian for dinner... I remembered the first time visiting Melbourne, this building (the state library) caught my attention... It's actually one of the buildings that caught my attention la... I like the architecture of it...

Besides that, this photo actually reminded me that I won a lucky draw the previous year during UMSA Ball... :) That prolly is one of the reason why I end up in Melbourne! Hehe... I actually won an Air Asia X return ticket from Melbourne to KL... How cool is that?! :)

Today today today..... Woke up quite late! I think I'm getting lazier alrdy! Gosh... Or maybe I've been sleeping later and later lately... Hehe... Tmrw I wanna force myslf to get up! Anyways, after having breakfast, I went straight to uni... Handed up the grants application form and returned two overdue books... Then go lecture... Today I only have one lecture...

After lecture, went to have vegan lunch with some of my classmates... Vegan lunch was good especially the dessert! I luv blueberries la.... They taste nice especially in muffins... :) After lunch, we head off to Engsci labs to continue on our project... This project ar... Owaz reach a dead end... Like now... Sigh~~ Hope that the lecturer can help us la... Seriously! If not, my holiday's gonna be like a hell-i-day instead!

Anyways, our discussion went on quite a bit and nvr finished though it was near 6.. And I got a Top 4 meeting at 6! Adoi~~~ Had to run all the way to uni... Smore, I neglected my cooking duty :( Sorry to my housemates!! Tmrw I try to cook yea! :) And then I went to Top 4 meeting with a vy stressed out body and mind... But after the top 4 meeting, I actually felt better... Cuz the ball's all planned and evrythg seems good! :)

Juz hoping for the best la now... Okok.. Vy late alrdy.. I wanna go sleep then wake up early tmrw!! :) Gdnite, ppl!!

This was taken during my first year here in Auckland... It was taken in my room, room 113 in Grafton Hall... These are some of the people who gave me a really good time here... I remember we used to have ice cream parties like this... That night, they chose to have it in my room and everytime we have this party, we would play "Heart Attack!"...

Now, everyone's everywhere and we kinda hardly contact each other anymore... Kinda sad yes... But at least we still remember each other! That's the most important thing... It's how u're able to carve smthg in ppl's hearts and that's smthg that will last forever... and ever...

I'm feeling tired alrdy... Wanna sleep after writing this post... Okok... Well, yesterday nite I slept quite a lot... Woke up this mornin feeling reli energetic and full of power! But in the aftrn, stil end up being tired... -_-" I guess it's human nature to feel tired eh? Anyways, after I woke up, took a shower had breakie and went straight out to Heritage Hotel to pay for the ballroom hire...

Then, head to Engsci computer labs to attend a lecture on how to use ARENA (a simulation package)... After the lecture, me and my groupie discussed on our project... Found quite a number of problems but havent solved it yet... Aiks~ So sad la... Then I had to leave for UMSA stall duty... Went to the stall and had a chat with Jie Huei regarding some relationship thingy...

After my stall duty, met up with Melinda and Susan to go out have lunch! It's Susan's birthday so happy birthday, Susan! :) Went to a Taiwanese eatery on Lorne St... Not too bad the food but vy little... Was not full but did enjoy it la... All the catching up and chatting... Seems like everyone's doing quite well... Glad that's the case! Also, it reminded me of my first year here in Auckland... All the wonderful ppl I met and the moments... :)

After lunch, I headed to the bank to make some payments and then went to 3A to print some tickets... It was raining and my phone still ringing non-stop as usual... Headed back to Engsci labs and stayed there for like 3 - 4 hours to finish my given project task... After that, headed home to have dinner and then showered... Didn't do any work tonight actually! Gosh feel so guilty.... And now I'm tired and wanna go to bed alrdy... T.T I wish I was more productive today!!

Anyways, let's hope tmrw will be a better day!! Gdnite, ppl...

Today's Chin Jin's birthday! We've been friends since Standard 1! Funny how he's one day younger than me but our sizes are like sooo far apart... Hehe... Oops~ Anyways, today can say quite happy also la... Though not very hyper but not too bad also...

Woke up super early! At 8 am... Did wake up at 7 but woke up to switch off alarm... Haha... Then had oats and went straight to the Engineering computer labs to do assignment... Managed to finish the assignment and handed it in on time... Skipped lunch today :( Cuz of my project lo... Discussed bout the project and managed to get part of the coding sorted out and improved on our model... Good job to all of us! :)

Discussion lasted for about 4 - 5 hours... Then came back home for dinner... I was super hungry so had fried rice downstairs of my apartment... Watched a bit of GI Joe on TV... Then planned to nap a while... Who knows juz only bout to close eyes, phone start to ring alrdy... :( UMSA work!!! Got up and replied mails, drafted mails to be sent etc etc... All done, dun feel like napping alrdy... Checked Facebook a bit here and there, planned a bit of my Spring holidays...

And now late alrdy.. getting ready to go sleep lo! Well, overall today was quite productive (for my level of laziness)... But kinda sad that time juz slipped away sooo fast! Really need to cherish it eh... Ok ok... Gud nite ppl!

Happy birthday to me!! Haha.. Lemme see what have I done today... Morning woke up pretty early and rushed to uni to pass the UMSA stuffs to the people at stall duty... Then went to class and I was sooooo tired that I slept thru two of the lectures! FML..... I think I should sleep earlier... Anyways, I am starting to not understand what the lecturers are saying already! OH NO!!! It's all starting all over again..... What can I do?! Study also no use.... Exercise oso cant find... Ish~

Anyways, I wont give up so easily of course! Gotta work harder! OK, So later in the day, I went back to settle some UMSA ball stuffs... Had a 6-inch subway sandwich and continue my work... Then napped for like an hour and then got up to go to the Engsci computer labs to discuss on the ENGSCI 355 project! Hmm~~ Well, glad that we at least decided on certain matters... Gonna implement it tmrw... Hopefully it'll work!

After that, went to UMSA meeting... After meeting, went back to have dinner and studied all the way! Did part of my assignment but cuz vy hard so next day gonna do it with friend... Well, that's it for today... Nothing much cuz my birthday alrdy celebrated for 3 days 3 nights before... Haha... Went to bed at bout 230 - 3 am... Gosh!

Slept late yesterday! Aiks~ I am very very looking forward to the end of August! First of all, cuz the Ball's gonna be over... Then I can happily pass my power over... Hahaha! Next thing is the holidays! Yeah!! Gonna to go down south... Dunedin, Doubtful Sound, Wanaka, Queenstown, Lake Tekapo, Christchurch... Whole of my 2 weeks all gone!

This mornin woke up at bout 930 am... Remembered I have yet to take a photo for the Air Asia Photography competition! Quickly prepared for it and went straight to Queen St... Chose a spot and took the photo... Curious eyes were staring... Didn't care bout them and just took my shot...

Basically whole day juz study STATS 325 only la... All that stochastic processes! Made my mind go random la! Haha... After all the studying, time juz flies like nobody's business.... Then a while it was night time and dinner time... Went out with house mates to get dinner... Went to Niwa at Lorne Street to have dinner... I had Sake for the first time! Oh, man it is juz sooooo warm and smooth! Nice!!

After dinner, went back home and started studying again... Did a lot of studying wor! So proud of myself! Hehe... Ok then... I guess it would be good to end today here...

Hmm~ What can I say bout today? Morning wake up, go get keyboard from Azhan with Edwin and Natalee... Head to iSpace for an initial full run rehearsal for the ball... As usual, ppl turn up late and ppl got pissed off (I think la...)... Anyways, I am still happy that all my performances are all good! The other performances are good too... :) Gonna make it a big one this year!

At night, Clarence prepared a feast! There's bbq-ed skewers, deep fried oysters and brownie! Nice.... Then we enjoyed a glass of whisky... Oooo~ Enjoyment to the max! Then cleaned the table and played some card game.... After the card game, went to do STATS 325... Study study study!! Then went to bed...

Nothing out of the ordinary today... Except that we had a good dinner with Vim, Tuan, Hui Wen and Sam as well!

Looking back at those posts that I posted, it really does brings back the memories... Looking back at those days, it really does make me reminisce... What I have been through, how did I went through it, who was with me... All those that matters...

Just now, I was sitting in front of my laptop screen thinking whether to delete these 71 posts... In the end I decided that it is too precious to delete... No matter if it's a happy or sad post, I will still accept it as part of my memories... For those who are still reading, thank you... For those who are new, welcome to my life - the past and the present, hopefully the future! :)

Today was a very stressful + happy day... So, all together sums up to neutral... This was how my day was...

In the morning, got up and prepared for a group presentation (AMPL presentation)... Then went to the UMSA stall just to find out the ball tickets are gone!! *wth* That thing is enough to make me stress like whole day long! Then after that I went back home in the rain and to do some ball hiring stuffs... After reaching home and settling some stuffs, went out again to get some ingredients to make Green Tea Tiramisu! At night, I was looking forward to the committee singing practice... But who knows when I reached International House, nearly all my committee was there to surprise me! Gosh, I was surprised! Haha... And so, they sang the birthday song! :) Received a perfume as present... Wow, they're all great people! And I think I know who remembered what perfume I like la... :) Thanks to that person la......

So, after that went back to Empire to shower... After shower, plan to go out to the Little Turkish Cafe to eat... Who knows so lucky, 10 people got stuck in the lift!! Haha... So funny... and scary... In the end, still get to go eat at that place... Had Istanbul Lamb Kebab on Rice! Yummy lo! Haha... After dinner, walked home... Now sitting in front of laptop... Plan to study but juz seems sooo tired... So worn out... I guess I should go to bed eh? Anyways, good night, people!!

High and dry

Recently I've left my blog high and dry... Frankly speakin a lot have been happening but one by one I have to face em and get over them!! I have to tell myslf and ask myslf to be brave and those support from family and friends are always there... Thanks, people!! Now, I wonder shud I change blogs now... New year, new beginning and probly new blog?? :)

A lil' something for myself

PIKOM PC Fair was where I went today! There were soooooo many people~ Really people mountain, people sea lo! The one I went to was at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, held for 3 days from 4th Dec 09'... Today already got sooooo many people... I think the last day (tomorrow) surely exploding dy la!

Anyways, I went there today with a purpose! Purpose to buy, buy and buy... Hehe... But of course, I planned and survey before one lo... :P I bought two stuffs for myself~ Using my own reserves... XD *pocket painful*

Now, lemme introduce to u guys and gals what I bought! *excited*
First item is 1 Tb external hard drive... It's from Seagate... Costed RM 299, which is about NZD 123.45 (didn't expect such a nice number wor)... The rate was NZD 1 to RM 2.42213... The RRP (recommended retail price) in Low Yatt (a famous IT place in Kuala Lumpur) for this brand is RM 330 and the cheapest was a Bufallo one at RM 315... Over there at the PC fair, the Buffalo one was sold at RM 299 too... SO, I guess this Seagate one would be better cuz I earn more!! Muahahaha...
Next item!! The one I've been waiting for soooo long... A brand new camera! A super-zoom camera.... Canon Powershot SX20IS... I also got a tripod... The camera itself costed RM 1,699 and the tripod costed RM 40... When I bought the camera at that price, there were free gifts such as a 4 Gb SDHC memory card, a camera bag, a set of 4 AA Alkaline rechargeables and a screen protector... Quite a gud deal eh? Cuz originally, the memory card provided by the stall was only 2 Gb! As for the tripod, I was told the original price is RM 80 la... But they quoted me RM 50... Then I asked for a lower price and got RM 40 at last... Hehehe... So, all together, I spent RM 1,739 for this set of camera...
Now, let's take a look at the design... The SX20IS looks like a DSLR... That's one factor why I like it so much... The zoom and manual capabilities are just few of the other reasons why I like it too though it had bad reviews lo... Aiks~ Well, actually I wanted to get Panasonic Lumix FZ 35 but it was out of stock liao! Cuz it's a vy close competitor and in fact, it had better reviews!
Front view of the camera... Another thing that's good bout this camera is it can shoot movies in high definition lei! No kiddin~~ And the recordings are in stereo as well... Plus, it can play slideshows on high definition TVs...
Backside view... The layout really is like a DSLR lo... Dun u think so? One thing bad bout this camera is that its dial to adjust the settings such as aperture, shutter speed etc. is not very sensitive to changes... But I can overlook that one la... Hehe...
Another good thing bout this camera is that it has an articulated screen! This means I am able to take photos at odd angles and can self potrait, sure kena (sure on target) one!!
Top view... SOme of the things that came with the camera include a lens hood, which will prevent lens glares and also a lens cover, which obviously protects the lens frm scratches or damage....
This is the camera's top view at full zoom! Living up to its name, the SX20IS has a 20x optical zoom... The lens is a 28-156 mm one... 20 freaking times, man!! No kiddin~~ Besides that, an external flash gun or receiver can be mounted on the top of the camera cuz there's a hotshoe... Convenient eh? :)
Side view number 1... The viewfinder, though electronic, it's still kinda big (probably around 0.44 inches)... I havent really tried it la... But I guess it should be not that bad gua~ Can train for my future DSLR! Hehehe...
Second side view... Here, we got all the ports for memory card la, HDMI slot la, power adapter la etc... One thing bout the SX20IS is that it's powered by 4 AA batteries... To some, it's convenient cuz almost anywhr oso can get the battery mar... Even in kedai runcit (sundry shops)!! To some, it's heavy and they dun like it... Talkin bout heavy, this camera weighs bout 600 g...

My Office Space

1st of December (yesterday), I started my first day as an intern engineer at Dynasynergy... It deals with power generators for mobile signal towers along the highways in Malaysia... On my first day to work, I took a wrong turn and nearly went to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) -_-|| Thank gudness I found my way back and was 5 minutes late! Thank gudness again, my boss not around... Haha! And after I reached my workplace, I received my first task! Guess what? I had to go find a TM Point (Telecom Malaysia) to pay the overdue bill... The rest of the day? Play some games, browsing through some pics and nearly doze off, I guess... XD

On my second day, I decided I shud not be like that! Hehehe... So, I started the day off by taking some pics to intro my room! And they actually gave me a room... How cool's that?!
Ta daa~~ My own desk and chairs, in case anyone wanna come and see me (kononnya... which means "yeah, right!")... Actually that room isn't practically mine la... Hehe... It's the conference room... Situated right beside my boss' room...
In "my room", I even have my own telephone, which I never use... But sadly, no internet yet!! Life's like that..... Need to wait boss come back then get internet frm him! Hehehe...
One thing gud bout this room is I got an air cond... There are two cabinets and in one, there are lotsa files and reports... And this one's got medals! But they are all not mine...
In my room also, there's a very nice view out there... Can see trees, mountains, the sky and clouds, buildings and cars... Can even hear the air cond turbine from my room! Haha... The turbine is right outside only actually (as shown above)...
Earlier, I said I found smthg to do... Yups! I borrowed a file to read... It's actually a manual on the power generators my company's using...
And that manual is freaking thick! As wide as the HTC Diamond... XD
After flipping thru a few pages, I noticed the manual has not been opened for quite some time... Look, even the graph is printed on the other side dy... Haha...
After flipping through a few pages, I got quite sleepy... Hehe... The words seemed to become more and more blur... My eyes getting heavier and heavier....... Guess what happened next? Hehe...

Well, basically that's all for today... Need to go to bed earlier to get ready for tmrw! Another day in the office... Looking at buildings and mountains in a distance!! Gdnite, ppl~ C ya soon...

Taking nite pics in Melbourne (Day 4)

As the title mentioned, I went out at night to take pics cuz it was not raining le!! Yay! Haha... It was still raining in the morning and the bottom of my jeans actually got wet... Made me felt so uncomfortable... But towards the mid-aftrn, the rain stopped! Good news to me cuz I have been wanting to go out at nite to take pics...
In the morning, Andrew brought me to Queen Victoria Market and both us had American doughnuts... It's kinda special as there is no hole in the middle and it has fillings wor! I think it's strawberry jam... Reminded me of Auckland's mini donuts...
Queen Victoria Market (QVM) actually looks kinda like Malaysian's Petaling Street eh? Only over there in QVM, got no "branded" stuffs, the walking space is bigger and got no one asking "ham pin, ham pin?" (porn, porn?)... -_-||

They actually sell lotsa stuffs in QVM ranging from souvenirs to clothings to accessories and even foodstuffs... They sell it really cheap too...
While it was still raining, I took the tourist bus (free service) to the Melbourne museum... I slept in the bus cuz was really tired and the weather was soooo nice... Hehe... The museum is located opposite the Royal Exhibition Building (REB), shown above... My friends studying in the Melbourne Uni all took their exams in this building... The building is really huge too! Made me look like an ant standing beside it...
I made my way into the museum... Flashing my student card, I got a concession (free entry)... In the above is Australia's first computer, CSIRAC... And guess what, a 2004 laptop can easily beat it flat! I read the description and this thing weighs roughly 2.5 tons and all of its capabilities (or even better) can be fitted into a 2.5 kg laptop... The world has changed a lot in the last 3 decades eh?
Melbourne museum is really unique... Why? Cuz they actually have a jungle inside it! A real one... Real trees, real birds, real insects, snakes and even fishes... Thank gudness no flies... Haha!
After bout 2 or 3 hours in the museum, I came out and to my surprise, it stopped raining! I was so happy.. Haha... So, I went passed the REB and into Carlton Gardens (above) and towards the city...
Walked and walked, I reached Chinatown (the other side)...
Seems like the Chinese migrants there are quite patriotic too eh? Haha...
Soon after, it started to rain AGAIN!! T.T It was so disheartening.... Smore so heavily... But I still managed to took this pic... Chinatown's arc...
After a while, I thought that it was already late and I headed back to Andrew's palce... Apparently, that nite, they had planned to celebrate Rachel's belated birthday... Hehe... 11 of us attended but the cake was pretty small... Hehe... I guess the cakes there shud b quite expensive gua.....

The next day, Shin Hoon and Brian sent me off to the bus stand where I took the Skybus to the airport... Took off at bout 1005 am towards Malaysia! Frankly speaking, it was really a nice trip in Melbourne with all those friends bringin me around or meeting me up though they're busy with their own stuffs... I'll blog till here la... :) Gotta rest early tonite to prepare for tmrw!! I'll be working starting tmrw for two months! Excited and nervous at the same time... Hehe.. Gdnite, ppl! C ya~

They say I brought NZ's weather to Melby wor... Haha.. It rained continuously (I think la...) for two days... And the rain was also like those start then stop then start again one la... So sien, can't go walk walk take pics... But one thg gud is that the weather cooled down le...
Brian gave me a wake up call on my 3rd day... He went "KS!! Cook...." and there I was cooking... Haha...
It was actually a surprise b'day picnic for Irene... In this photo, she still dunno bout the celebration... From left, Teo (juz got to know him), Hui Qing, Charlene and Irene... The legs belong to Brian... Haha...

After waiting for everyone to arrive, Brian went back to get the cake... Irene was surprised when she saw the cake! Brian baked the cake with his friend... Hehe... During the party, it didn't rain (thank gudness...) but ahortly after, it started to rain and the rain's kinda like the one in Auckland... Start then stop then start again... Vy sien lo liddat... Haha... But it didn't stop me frm goin ard the city! Went to take more photos at this place (I think it's called Southbank)...

The pic above shows the famous Eureka tower, which is the tallest residential apartment in the southern hemisphere and also contains the tallest viewing deck in the southern hemisphere on the 88th floor... Too bad I didn't have the time to go up... Besides, the weather was bad too la... So, no point goin up 88 floors to see clouds only...
After a while, the weather got pretty bad and we walked into the Crown building which houses a casino, hotel and also many shops from restaurants, bars and bistros to clothings and designer brands... I tried some slot machine and lost like a few bucks la... Now then I know actually slot machines are there to cheat old ppl's money!! So bad one.... I think they earn those uncle auntie's money in slot machines to cover up what they lost in the tables lo... Ish...

After the casino, we went out and I found the view vy nice across the river... This is actually across the Yarra river... It was stil raining but it definitely didn't stop me!
After walking for a while more, we decided to go have dinner... I suggested Indian food and here we have it! 3 curries and rice... All served in a metal plate which is really very Indian la... Haha...
After dinner, we walked home... It was still raining and I was drenched... Thank gudness didn't get sick... Hehe... Pic above is dedicated to all dick heads... XD

Melbourne started to rain! (Day 2)

In the morning, it was really really stuffy... It's like an oven! Towards the afternoon, it started to rain... So, didn't really take lotsa pics... Anyway, I spent my second day walking the University of Melbourne and took a tram to St Kilda's beach... In the night, met up with some friends to have dinner... That's all gua... Was quite tired at the end of the day...
One thing bout Melbourne uni is they dun have a stone plaque! So, this would be the sign everyone will wanna have a picture with la... Hehe...

I like to look at the clear blue skies with a few puffy white clouds... It makes me feel so calm and can forget bout my troubles and worries... But of course, if got birds flying then I rather not look up... Haha...
Smthg that nearly made me cried... Spicy~~ And since it's expensive, I had to force myslf to finish it.... It was a long, loooong 15 minutes!
Really teh botol and teh kotak, literally! XD Fyi, teh botol is bottled tea and teh kotak is boxed tea...
Soon after lunch, I met up with Kia Xin and Charlene... Took a "free" tram to St Kilda's beach...
Who knows the flies followed us there...... Annoying!!! But as I said in my previous post, Charlene actually found a way to ward off the flies... Temporarily... XD
Ta daa!!! A packet of mothballs is the answer!! She managed to repel the flies... but unfortunately, somehow the flies grew fonder towards Charlene... XD After she kept the packet of mothballs, all the flies flew and circled her head!! Muahahaha~~ So funny.... Oops~ Hehe...
I saw some children at the beach... Kinda made me think of the innocent type of love between young siblings... And the uncle behind vy jor deng (extra and distracting) lo!!
After leaving the beach, we went to the shops area to walk... It was already raining that time... Saw this unique van, which probably juz landed on Earth... Haha! I dunno I got think too much anot but it kinda circled the place... It went to and then came back the same route and repeated... Seems like the "aliens" eat till full and got nothing to do (a hokkien saying)...
Other than those strange stuffs, I noticed this cute lil' doggie.... It was looking away and I juz go "tsk tsk tsk" and it turned to look at me! I took its photo aftr that...
After walking for a while, we went back to the city by the "free" tram... Met up with Jeremy, Brian, Shin Hoon and Kar Mun... Went to have dinner together at Chinatown... Not in this restaurant of course!! I scared I enter this restaurant then no nid come out dy... -_-||
One of the special things I had in Melbourne is this... Deep-fried ice-cream... And to have it in a Chinese restaurant is pretty unique too!
So, after a long day's walk, the day is finally over... Reached Andrew's place and rested, showered and took a look at the photos I captured that day... Of course, I did some thinking and missing too... :)

Well, since now stil got some time, I'll juz do the third day la... If got time, I'll juz do the fourth and last day as well... Finish evrythg earlier better la... Hehe... So, c ya ppl!! Hope u enjoyed reading...

Melbourne is so hot! (Day 1)

Exams were over, flight tickets were bought... Time to enjoy the holidays!! And I was one step closer to going back Malaysia! Decided to stop by Melbourne, Australia to visit some friends... Did some exploring in the city area too...
Morning 630 am... That was my flight time... Needless to say, I didn't sleep much the nite before... Hehe... Nervous and scared miss flight! XD I took the shuttle with a junior, Chun How to the airport... He was leaving towards Brunei and then Malaysia...
I took Pacific Blue... The flight attendants were vy friendly with the passengers and even played a game... But cuz I didn't sleep the nite before, I slept thruout the 4 hours of flight! Haha... After touchdown, I took the Skybus to Southern Cross Station and met up with Andrew... Later met up with the rest and had Japanese food along Chinatown... Hehe... The above pic's Teriyaki eel rice with egg... Salty and sweet but nice!
Ok... So, that's when my journey begun! Hehe... Sounds like an adventure eh? It really was mar... XD This here is the Victoria State Library... Andrew said that there aren't any novels inside... It's kinda like an archive... Encyclopaedias, journals and all those stuffs... Another thing is that there are lots of ppl picnic-ing outside...
Then, we walked under the burning hot sun to this place... This is the Flinders Station... I guess it shud be the main train station gua... Hehe...
We crossed the street to come to the tourist centre... It was such a small world that I met Ying Swan (friend from Auckland) there! Oh no, she's not the penguin la... Haha... She went to Melbourne to meet up her friends too... This above pic was taken cuz we saw this vy friendly penguin walk towards us... Hehe... From right, Andrew, Charlene, penguin, me and Hui Qing...
After we got out of the tourist centre, we came across this "bra van"... Haha... I was still wondering what was it when I saw it... After I saw the word "uplifting" then only I realised... Unique eh? The bra van! Dunno do what oso... XD
Passing by the bra van, we came to the Art's centre... This is where all the stage thearetical shows are shown... Opera la, plays la, musicals la... All here... We went inside to look look see see... And other than that, we also go in to use the toilet and to enjoy the cool air of the air cond... XD Bo pian (no choice) la... Melby reli vy hot mar! Haha... During the summers only la...
Outside the Art's centre, there were mirrors placed at an angle... They told me a lot ppl took photos there so, I oso dun wan lose out! Haha...
After walking out of the Art's centre, we quick quick walked to the next stop which is right beside only... The National Gallery of Victoria... Inside got a lot of art masterpieces and also strange strange things... For example lei... The air cond comes out from below one... In the pic above, Charlene was showing us one... There were lots of holes like these... Air comes out... But one thg funny is the place dun smell one lo... Cuz some ppl got Hong Kong foot (direct translate.. Hehe.. It's Athlete's feet la) mar... Then the wind blow liddat sure vy smelly lo... But thank gudness not smelly...
I kinda like this art piece... So got feel... The background, the lighting... Juz right! Hehe...
Here's another strange art piece... This one I called Andrew between orange and blue... XD
After we enjoyed the air cond and the art masterpieces, we walked out of the cooling place and walked a very torturous 5 minutes to the Shrine of Rememberence... It's is to commemorate the ANZAC soldiers in both WWI (pronounced as whee) and WWII (pronounced as wheeeeee)... Haha...
So, we walked upstairs and I found a very good place to take a panoramic photo... And there you go, a panoramic view of the city of Melbourne with the Eureka tower in the middle... The Eureka is the tallest residential apartment and also has the highest viewing deck in the Southern Hemisphere!
All no exercise... KO liao... XD But they are actually quite strong dy la... Hehe... Under the hot, scorching sun, they can actually walk with me to sooo many places... really vy geng (skillful) liao lo! Andrew, Charlene and Hui Qing, thanks yea!!

Oh, I forgot to intro a bit mroe bout the Shrine... Inside, there's actually a plaque on the floor, in the middle and above it directly, there's a hole with a transluscent window pane... At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month every year, the sun's rays will shine and concentrate on one word on the plaque... Guess what word? It's "Love"... Cool eh?! I juz missed it only......
After the Shrine, we went back to the city via tram... Met up with Kia Xin and Rachel in front of Melbourne Central, which is opposite the State Library... Rachel and Andrew left first, leaving Kia Xin, Charlene and Hui Qing to bring me around... We took the City Circle, a free tram service to Melby's waterfront... They named it Docklands...
They went there to look at fishes... But I went there with a reason, which is to take photos! Haha... Nite photos are always the nicest... I think la... So, while they three looked at fishes and talked their time away, I went around to take photos...
A docked yacht... People in Aussie and NZ like to go sailing smtimes... So, most of em, if rich, they'll buy boats or yachts... Just nice, Docklands is Melby's newest precinct and judging by the looks of it, I bet only rich ppl live there la...
There are also art masterpieces there... This one is the legendary upside down cow on a tree... According to Kia Xin la... XD Btw, I like the sky that day... It was really beautiful!
After taking some photos and feeling a lil' hungry and impatient, I decided to go back to the city... Cant stand it alrdy, too hungry la! Cant wait till nitefall... So, we took the tram back to the city... A few thgs I like bout this pic are the city lights and the tone of the sky... Made me think of the busy life which has juz ended in a city...
After waiting for a while, our tram arrived and we took it to Lygon Street, where all the Italian food are at... Went to a restaurant called Universal and I had the Lasagna... Whoa~ Vy the nice lo!! Not vy expensive too... But I heard there are cheaper places la.. Hehe... Juz that Universal is more classy gua...

After dinner, we went to have ice-cream at Fredo's... The famous one la... Lots of ppl queueing up... Lots of Asians... Malaysians and Singaporeans... Haha... Feels like home... XD They had specialty flavours like Roche and Durian... But being a person who doesn't like Durian, I chose Tiramisu instead... I admit the Roche reli is vy nice! But as for the tiramisu, it's so so only...

If u ask me how I'd describe Melbourne during summer, I can say only two words... Flies and Hot! Haha... The flies there like nowhr else to go liao lo... Fly here and there around us (not cuz we dirty or smelly)... They even landed on our face! So geli (disgusting)~~~~ -_-|| So, nex time if got go Melbourne during summer, dun forget ur insect repellant... In the next post, I'll tell u all how Charlene cast off the flies! But in the end still failed.. XD So, c ya all nex time!

Hey people! Been wondering what have I been up to lately? Hehe... Apart from exams (I shud be studyin right now lo.. XD), I went around having good food! Good like really fine dining o... Hehehe... Not that I rich or what la... Juz wanna try try new stuffs mar... :P
This is the place le~ It's called O'Connell Street Bistro... The name suggests that it's not really a fine dining place but it actually is... The interior's really artistic and romantic... But at times may get a lil' noisy la... Hehehe... Imagine us, a group of M'sian guys go there... We talked loud, laughed loud... Anw, the ppl there also loud la! :P

Before we go into the food, let's intro the people I went with! Someone new and someone who's hardly ever gone out of our apartment... Haha... Introducing Clarence on the left and TC on the right.. Paiseh har, TC... Ur mouth cacat-ed (disfigured but literally means crippled) liao... XD
Sitting beside me is Han Meng, my room mate and Darrel (in green) who brought us there to eat...

Now, the food! All of us went for the 3-course meal valued at NZD 39.50... There was a 2-course one at 32.50 too... Only these two "cheaper" choices at that time... Hehe... Really thank gudness we went for the 3-course meal lo! More worth it relatively la... Look below then u know why liao..
First course, entre... Looks small and yummy eh? This is crispy squid, rocket and roast garlic saffron aioli... Long name... Haha! Two mouth finish 10 bucks liao... U all muz b wondering how big is my mouth eh? I tell u, it's the food small la... XD Fine dining mar... Evrythg oso fine... Small small....

But good thgs always come in small packages! :) This squid's saltiness hides the bitter taste of the rocket and when dipped into the sauce, there's a creamy sensation in the mouth... Wa~ nice la....
Next is the main dish! The supposed-to-be-quite big-and-can-eat-till-full-full-and-feel-pregnant dish... Turns out, three mouth finish dy... -_-||| Anw, introducing seared South Island salmon with Bok Choy coleslaw... :) Another long name... I like how they fry the fish... Not too oily at all! I added some pepper and salt cuz the fish is bland... The coleslaw kind of added a sweet taste to the dish and the fish is crispy outside, tender on the inside... Yumm yumm!! :9
For all dishes, we have two choices.. I chose the salmon and the other is this one... Smthg TC said made me laughed a bit actually... The white strips on the food are cheese... When the waitress putting the cheese, TC suddenly say "Bak chor mee..." (Minced meat noodles)... I was like "Hahaha... Aiyoyo"... This dish is called linguini of confit duck with roasted red onion, baby spinach and Parmigiano Reggiano... Facncy long name eh? Parmigiano Reggiano is actually Parmesan cheese lo... Make life so difficult wanna put such a hard-to-pronounce name... -_-|| I never tried this dish though... Cuz if I take one mouth, my friend only left with two... XD
Next!! Dessert of course!! I think it kinda looks like an elongated piece of mooncake... Haha... But no lo! It's actually Manuka honey tart with pistachio nut ice-cream and apple syrup... Sounds sweet and yummy eh?! It is actually quite sweet but that's the reason of having desser mar! Haha... Again, 2 mouth finish liao... XD I like the pistachio nut ice-cream though...

Well, that's all on Tuesday, which was two days before my first exam!! This semester, I took four papers but only have exams for three of em... Modelling in Operations Research, Thermofluids as well as Modelling and Design 1... Hehe... Just finished the first two and now, left with Modelling and Design 1, which is the very last day of the year!! Ish.... My exam time table is seriously crappy la... 29th Oct, 30th Oct and 16th Nov!! Aiz~ In hokkien, we call this "bao tao, bao beh" (means smthg like I take the beginning and end).. SOuncs funnier in hokkien la.. XD

Nth vy interesting happened two days ago... But smthg interesting happened yesterday! Hehe... I went to the Engineering library to study with Tuan and Clarence... We were all basically screwed cuz got not much time to prepare... :( And while studying half-way, the following happened:

Tuan : Eh, I think Superman's the best la! U see Batman is human only and Spiderman mutated guy...
*Me and Clarence looked at him*
Tuan : But hor... Spiderman drop down from tall building can't die one lei...
Me : Really? I thought he will die one? He not also human mie?
Clarence : Yea lo...
Tuan : No lo... That time in movie he drop down flat on his back! Still alive lei...
*I look at Clarence and he looked at me and both agreed*
Tuan : I wonder if we throw spider down 100 floors, will the spider die?
Clarence : Spider so light... Won't die la.. Just like throw ants down mar....
Me : If u throw ants down, I think before the ant hit the ground, it alrdy fly away with the wind la! Haha...

That occurred only one hour away frm the paper gonna start... I was like "Waleu~ so stress dy stil got time talk bout superhero?!" -_-||

Anyways, thank gudness I didn't do very badly for Thermofluids la... Hehe... But I was satisfied with Operations Research la... Haha! Well, it is smthg I'm gonna major in and do research in ar! Hehe... Okok... I need to go shower and get ready to go out!! Gonna blog bout that soon.... So, stay tuned!! C ya, readers!! ;)

The past few days, I've been thinking whether to do it or not... Finally, after sooooo many ppl asking me to do it, I went to do it...
That was before....
This was after! I was very satisfied with it... Considering the not-so-expensive price la.. Hehe...

Sometimes I wonder why I think so much for whether I should do a haircut compared to whether I should go out to eat... Let's compare la... A bowl/plate of food in Malaysia costs like average RM 5 and u get the same thing here for like NZD 10... The scale in the numbers is bout 2 times... On the other hand, for haircuts, I go to one which is like RM 16 and here, it's NZD 25... The scale is about 1.6... And yet, I can go out eat so many times when I can juz eat at home... But for a haircut, I would think soooo hard before cutting... Haha~ Funny la... Or mayb cuz food is more important gua.. that's why nvr go think about it also...

Anw, I shall stop here la.. Time for me to hav a gud rest! C ya folks!

First of all, I wanna announce that I broke a record today! Haha... Personal record... I actually slept for bout half an hour in lecture! XD Oops.... Sorry, Dr Solomon..... But I still didn't miss ur really really lame joke...... Do u all know what's lame? Let me show u what true lame is....
Today at the same lecture that I slept (hehe....), the lecturer was teaching us smthg bout the Bin method... He said "This is the Bin method... Not the Bin Laden method!" and he actually laughed himself!!

I totally went from -.- to o.O to -_-||| OMG! That's suuuuppppeeeerrrrr lame lo!!!! Hehe... Ok, back to my books now! Shall update soon again...... So, c ya ppl soon!

Wonder what's with the jelly legs? Hmm.... Yesterday was UMSA's AGM!! That's why the title "jelly legs"... It was really really nervous for me and I bet, a lot others... It's the time to choose who shall lead UMSA next year and who shall work together with who...

This here is Naomi presenting yesterday's agenda... Naomi was UMSA's President for 2009... So, the day started with some amendments to the current constitution followed by the activities and financial reports, explanation of the voting procedures and then the speeches and Q&A sessions for the candidates...
Can say this is the highlight of the day la! Haha... Our Social Officers 2009, Ati (we call her Artie, stressing on the "r") and Allan presenting on the activities throughout 2009... We were all supposed to gather at the venue at 9 a.m. but most of us were late... Hehe... I was late for bout 5 minutes but it's ok cuz I met June, the Vice President 2009 on the way... :P That means I'm not late la! Hahaha...

The event was supposed to start at 10 a.m. sharp but cuz the members were late too... Malaysian Standard Time mar... So, we started late la... On that day, the Social Officers 2009 had to present on the activities throughout 2009... Allan, being playful and last minute, did his slideshow that morning at 6 a.m... Aiks~ Juz look at his hair! All standing!! Haha... He didn't even get to really shower I think... XD Nice hair, Allan! Dun kill me if u see this yea! Hahaha...
It all started with the Executive portfolios candidates making their speeches... We have two running for Treasurer... This here is Tuan, making his speech with his powerpoint slides... He's really good with Wushu... One of Malaysian's finest, I think... Hehe...
Another guy running for Treasurer... This here's Jack... his speech was really good and well-planned!
Next post is Secretary... Introducing Dimi (full name's Dimithira)!! Hehe... She ran uncontested... But dun think it's really easy also yea... For each ballot, there will be the candidate's name and also a "no confidence" vote... If the no confidence votes are high enough, I'll say probably 20%, then you're out! Dimi's speech is also accompanied by a powerpoint slide...
Next one is the Vice President post... The one that will advice the President!! Crucial role... Ran by two people as well... First candidate, Jie Huei (in picture)... She's really good in presentations and media... She's doing Communications in AUT... That's why she so pro... Hehe... She accompanied her speech with a video presentation... Next one running for Vice President is Jack... Jack ran for two positions...
Guess what, I ran for the President position!! Haha... That's why got jelly legs la... XD Though I ran uncontested, I still felt nervous and worried cuz I still need to gain people's confidence in me... I would say my speech was smooth but my Q&A isn't as good... Aiks~ Still, actions speak louder than words! I will show that I can do it too!! Hehe...

Actually most of the drama happened during the Executive portfolios' voting... It was seriously exciting during the Q&A sessions... And also, very very political!! Haha... The day ended with some sad and happy moments... I got voted as the President, Jie Huei as the Vice President, Dimi as the Secretary and Jack's the Treasurer... As for the general committees, the name list too long la... Haha... Go to UMSA's website nex time to check it out ba... Anyways, I'll be looking forward to working with this group of people!

UMSA Ball 2009

30th August 2009... It was a really big day for me... It was also a really big day for everyone in the UMSA (Union of Malaysian Students in Auckland) committee :D Yea, it was the annual UMSA Ball! A lot has been done by all of us... Actually nearly all of us in the committee to make it a success... We had laughter, we had tears, we had misunderstandings and we also had tons of fun in the process of making it a hit!

Just now in the Engineering computer lab, I read Ati's blog post on our Ball... Well, it really got me wanting to write a little more on how I managed to pull through the whole process...

It all started early this year when we were deciding on the theme... Will it be Mafia? Or Ebony and Ivory? Or perhaps Dance Into the Twilight?? Yes, that's it! Dance Into the Twilight sounds awesome! And so, there's our theme... Next thing was to separate the committee into teams.. Marketing, hiring, decor and skit... I was in the skit team...

Jie Huei, Kauthar, Jack, Angeline, Rachel and me... 5 of us are all in the skit team... We met up a few times before to discuss and decide on the storyline of the skit... And so, we came up wuth some funky ideas! haha... not to mention dodgy ones as well... XD The details are all finalised before the Winter break, which is during the start of July... Then in the whole of the Winter holiday, I went to Bersatu Games, bring my Aussie friends around and also attend the Brighter Future Musical (BFM) practices... Busy hor? XD

After the break, we had to plan the practice times and venues... We had lotsa difficulties cuz we initially wanted to do everythg in the dance studio in our uni's recreation centre but then friday evenings always fully booked... :( So, we had to think of other places like the iSpace (International Space) or even classrooms...

Throughout the practices, many misunderstandings among ourslvs occured... Which taught me lots of things... I learned how to deal with people, how to work with them and how to keep my mouth shut smtimes... Haha! Even though there were so many misunderstandings, I really get to see who are my true friends and who are just superficial...

Other than UMSA skit practices, I also had BFM practices, where I danced, stomped (beating those kuali kuali and mangkuk mangkuk) and also sang... I had to balance these two with my uni assignments!! Trust me, it wasn't easy... A typical schedule for my week would be UMSA meetings on Monday evenings, BFM practices on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, rest on Thursday nights and UMSA practices on Friday nights and towards the end, Saturday mornings as well... I hardly had time to even study or do my assignments... It was hard but I got through it... Thanks to people who encouraged me throughout and shared my burdens... Especially Joanne, who had been really supportive of me :) Of course, I am also not forgetting the others, particularly the UMSA people who had shared my workloads... haha...

My birthday was actually during the final one week before the Ball... Exactly one week before!! And so, I also didn't really celebrate my birthday... Sad, I know... But at least I got lots of wishes and presents!! hehe... The following day, there was a skit practice in iSpace and I actually received a surprise from the UMSA people! They gave me a huge card and two cakes!! That's really nice of u guys! :) But on that nite itslf, some misunderstanding occured and I was like "OMG! Not tonite, please....." but it happened... It muz hav left some scars on ppl's hearts but what's done can't be undone... Sad but true... Anyway, apart from that, I was grateful for the cakes and card! Thanks again UMSA committee!! Refer to this post...
We had lotsa skit practices, like I said... This one here is at the Engineering building... In one of the tutorial rooms... There's Allan, me and Azhan playing the Ah Lee's Angels... hehe... We were supposed to be "gentle" guys la... XD Both Allan and Azhan were really good actors!! Talented...
We also put in lotsa efforts and "spices" into our skit... Jie Huei, our skit team leader suggested that we use the green screen to edit some of our footage in the skit!! She's so pro eh? hehe... It turned out really nice...
Remembering the nite before the big day, me, Ati and Tuan went to Warehouse to get some paint to do the backdrop... We actually stumbled across these!! Spray Kote, man!! Hahahaha!! I nearly burst out laughing like crazeeee.... XD
Then, we went back to Ati's place to quickly finish up the backdrop... There's also a story behind this backdrop! I shall roughly tell the story yea... Before the backdrop shown above, the decor team actually did one already... It was done by using a vy thin, vy permeable black cloth... Ati, the decor team leader and her team actually painted the backdrop two nights before the Ball...

That night when they were painting the backdrop, we met Dominic, an architecture student.. He told us that if we were to paint red on the black cloth, it would not work as the paint will juz absorb into the cloth, leaving no red colour at all... He was right but Ati and gang were already halfway through it... So, they decided to continue and all of em finished at 4 am... They then left the whole backdrop to dry downstairs of Ati's apartment cuz it's actually quite safe to elave thgs unattended in NZ... Moreover, to access that area of her apartment, u'll need an access key... Later that day, we actually had a skit practice at 8 or 9 am in the business school... It was really hard out on Ati and her team!! After the skit practice, to Ati's dismay, she actually found that the backdrop that they did was missing!!!!! OMG!! Missing!! After giving the management a call, it was found that the backdrop was thrown away cuz her apartment's premises are private properties and u can't simply leave thgs there...

So, Ati went to check the bins for the backdrop but couldn't find it... :( Sad eh? aiks~ She suspected that the cleaners muz hav taken it... After emo-ing a while, she finally pulled herslf together and decide to make another backdrop! This time, we used recycled black cloth from the previous event and we heeded Dominic's advice to paint a white base before proceeding into the reds and blacks... And so, the night before the Ball, me and Tuan decided that we shud help Ati out la... Ati, feeling really guilty, didn't ask for her decor team to help out anymore cuz they already had worked sooooo hard the nite before...
Finally, as u can see, our backdrop is done!! Kudos to the decor team!! In the picture above, from left is Allan, Ati and Ipin... They were doing some final touch-ups on the backdrop before hangin it up...
Besides the decor and skit, the marketing team did an exceptionally gud job too!! Ticket and poster designs are from Florence and they are really nice and brings out the feel of the theme... The black envelopes are designed by Dimi... They are to be stuck on chopsticks and stuck into apples to bring out the fairy tale feel... These are all really nice designs!!
Finally... It's the day!! In the mornings, the decor team rushed in to decorate the whole ballroom... The above device, the Genie is actually an elevator... It gave us a hell of a time cuz we dunno how to use it... In the end we figured how to use it though... haha~

After decoration... Cool eh? We did it all by ourslvs!!
Some of us booked a hotel room across the road in Sky City Hotel to prepare ourslvs... This here is me after I got ready...
That night, we had lucky draw and here's the winning ticket!! Guess what, I won a return flight ticket from AirAsia X!! Melbourne - KL... How cool is that?!
I tended the ticket counter with Kauthar and Ipin...
This is the table's centrepiece.. We had this on every table... Nice eh?
Not to mention the food! hehe... I eat until I felt like I was 4 months pregnant!! XD Need to eat more mar... Then only worth it!
And so, we did our skit, did our dances and our performances.... All of us were great!! The actors were at their fullest, the dancers and songers were all at their best that nite... This pic shows the committee dancing to the Jai Ho music... an Indian dance of course!

Finally the night was over... Packing time!! UMSA Ball was one of the last few events that we work together as a committee to organise... So, right after that night, though we felt like a huge burden was lifted off our shoulders, we also felt kinda sad cuz most of us will go down separate paths already... Some will graduate and go back to Malaysia, some will stay but not join UMSA and some will continue to stay... They say life's but a brief candle and so, do make the most of it! Treasure the people and the moments before it's too late... Stand up if u tumble, learn from ur mistakes and be satisfied with what u have... All of these I've learned from them... Through the hard way and the easy way... Thanks, people!!
U all make me a stronger and more reliable person!

A day in the computer labs

Being an Engineering Science student isn't easy... U would start to think of everything in terms of math and physics! Oh and also, u will always ask urslf what is conserved? Haha... But I'm juz glad that I'm still normal la... Compared to some others who have maybe gone a bit looney already... Haha! Look below...
I think this guy/gal (I'm not a sexist.. hehe..) too stress plus hungry dy la... haha... He/she shud b either facing the comp too much writing Visual Basic codes or optimise his brain usage too much liao... XD
Oh and in another Engieering computer lab, I also found this stuck on the wall... hehe... Reminds me of the Double Decker chips I eat when I was young! Got sticker inside one....

Spring is here again!

Spring break is all about flowers! But mine was different... hehe... My spring break was nearly all about......

Nah... actually my spring break this year isn't that boring la... Not all bout jumping and flying only... My buddy, Jay Sern came from Malaysia juz to visit me! He came for bout 10 days (give or take) and I brought him around...
We went on a road trip... Btw, this is Huntly Power Station, New Zealand's largest geothermal power plant... hehe...
We went to Rotorua to do the Luge... And took lots of photographs... hehe...
Then, we went to Taupo to sit the Huka Jets... The one that does the 360 degrees spin... Refer to my previous post...
Then we also had Burgerfuel! See how big the burger is?! hehehe...
Then, we got soooo bored that we went prawn fishing! haha...
Muahahaha!! I'm gonna eat u...... *evil laugh*
After the road trip ended, I brought J Sern around Auckland... We went to the Auckland Museum...
He did lotsa things there... Like pole dancing... haha!
That's why he's so exhausted.. haha! No la... Actually he's feeling tired cuz haven been sleeping a lot past few days... and museums juz wereb't his thing... (P/S: I actually went to the museum for 3 times already)
We also found out that there are actually penguins that have a crested erections... haha!!
The following few days, I also brought him to Devonport... Went there to sightsee and take photos and JUMP smore... XD
Chicago's temperatures reach 20 below zero! Yet, J Sern still felt the cold here in Auckland... I think he wear too less liao... XD And the wind here is also vy strong! That's why they call Auckland the city of sails...
Since Auckland is such a busy city... and I mean "busy", we wanna go smwhr more peaceful... Oh yea... Sunset's juz the right thing to do! (dun get me wrong.. I'm perfectly straight) XD
Then, it's back to the city... Went up Sky Tower with J Sern and Han Meng (my roomie)... hehe... Look at that! I'm standing in the middle of the air!!
Two nights before J Sern flew back to Malaysia, I brought him out with some of my friends... from left of me, Tuan, Allan and Ati... We went to Hulu Cat to have a drink or two (bubble tea)... and that was the night everyone got soooo confused playing Bridge... haha!

Well, that summarizes J Sern's journey here to NZ and also summarizes most of my Spring break this year la! hehe... This means one post down, three more to go! Gambatte!!

It flew all the way from USA... Chicago to be exact... Flew to Taipei, then Kuala Lumpur... Took the car to Batu Pahat and then back to Kuala Lumpur and flew again to Sydney... And after soooo many miles, it finally came to Auckland!! Hehe... Thanks, Jay Sern!! I mean Prince Jay! Hehe... I'm filling it up with songs now... Took quite some time for me to fill it up o...

Funny but true... I actually didn't really feel any older than I was... Haha! Maybe cuz I never really ponder about how it feels... But then when I look back again, I will notice that actually I've gone through so much and grown up so much...

In this process of growing up, I actually learned loads of stuffs... Things like how cruel the real world could be, how people act in front of others, how stress uni life can be -_-|| and many other things... In the process of learning, I met lots of angels and encouraging incidents as well... Of course this world isn't that bad too... There are still people who are true and sincere... That's one thing I am really glad of!

Well, being 21 means more responsibilities... Being 21 means a whole new world is awaiting me... Being 21 means I have to be more matured (note that it's "more matured" and not "matured" XD)... Being 21 means I can vote in the election... Being 21 means a whole new set of obstacles in front of me... Being 21 means I have to be braver... Being 21 means I am an adult... But being 21 doesn't mean I'll stop blogging... Hopefully.... Haha...

Oh, look at the time... 3.32 am... Wwwwaaaaaayyyyy past bedtime! XD Smone's gonna tell me off le.. Aiks! =P Ok la... Go to bed now... Gdnite, ppl! Stay tuned eh...

For most of us, the age of 21 means that we are an adult! Which means that we have to make decisions on our own... It's all bout independence thereafter... Besides that, it also means we can legally vote, legally go to strip clubs (Oops... Hehe... No worries, I'm a good boy.. Won't go one... XD) and legally do anything that's legal! Haha... Can't think of any alrdy...

Anyway, people would celebrate their 21st on that day itslf... But I decided to prolong my celebration to one whole week! Yay!! Of course it's for various reasons la.. Hehe...

The Night Before (22nd Aug)
Doing assignment, which is due on Tuesday! Aiks~ But thank gudness I've got such good friends, who brought me out for dinner that nite! :D Thanks Sam, Han Meng and Darrel!! Clarence was sleeping and we couldn't wake him up... We rang him, knocked on his door... No use... He really slept like a log... XD

Oh btw, those crumpled papers are lots... U see, we couldn't decide what to eat... So, we had to draw lots to decide whr to go... Hehe...
At last, we decided on Thai food! It was awesome... It's been so long since I last ate smthg spicy!! Thanks for the dinner as well, guys! ;D
For those who read my blog since last year, u all would know that I got a bit high cuz of alcohol... Hehehe... Yups, a bit high... This year, I didn't expect to get another bottle of Vodka! Gosh! Haha... But I didn't get drunk of course... I got too much work to do alrdy... Oh and Thank you, Han Meng for this!! :D

Monday (24th Aug)
Happy birthday, Chin Jin! hehe... Didn't do much this day except goin to uni to attend lectures... Morning 11 am until the evenings 4 pm...
Actually... I did have some fun in clas... Hehe... Played LEGO for one of my subjects... Guess what I was supposed to build here? C'mon la... Guess la.....
Tadaa!! I was building a crane! After that, I had to write an instruction in words and pass it to smone to assemble it... Tough lo! Not easy to write at all...

Then later at 4 pm, I gathered with my group mates to discuss bout our project presentation... Hehe...

Next, at bout 6 pm, had UMSA (Union of Malaysian Students in Auckland) meeting at iSpace (International Space)... Aiks! hehe... Other than the meeting, we also had our practice for the skit for our upcoming Ball...
Little did I expect that I'm gonna have cakes this year!! Yeah!! Haha... Two smore... Not bad not bad! Thanks to the UMSA committee, I had two really delicious Sara Lee cakes... Thanks to Naomi (president), June (Vice President), Angeline (Treasurer), Jun Yan (Secretary), Vim and Kauthar (Communications officer), Allan and Ati (Social officers), Dimi (Editor), Jie Huei (ASIA rep), Ipin and Andrew (Cultural officers), Azhan (Photographer), Joselyn (AUT rep), Tuan and Jack (Sub-committee)!! Nth much happened these few days... But I did receive a few cards from my friends... And also had routine practices for UMSA and the Brighter Future Musical! hehe... I actually joined a musical and am gonna perform on the 11th, 12th and 20th Spetember! Come support me!!!

Palmerston North is a vy quiet place.. Peaceful, calm but windy!! Gosh, it was sooooo cold... -_-|| No wonder they have a wind farm there...
Bersatu Games, Palmerston North logo... It was the third day into Bersatu but I'm about to leave Palmy alrdy... Kinda sad to elave the UMSA team but they can do without me la! They got GOLD btw... Congrats aye!!
Anw, I left for lunch with some Ex-INTEC friends and some other newly met ones! Went to have dim sum.. Whoa, reli slurp slurp lo! haha...This one here is deep-fried squid tentacles... Yummy yummy!
Typical thing groups of ppl would do when really nth to do! haha...
After that, we big bag, small bag all bring go Wellington!! Yay!! That was 4:50 p.m... Reach Welly alrdy bout 6:50 to 7 p.m... We arrived at the Wellington Train Station.. There got Platform 9 and 3 Quarters lei! But now they got a laundry service there dy... so sad cant take nice nice picture le... But u all stil can refer to my previous post on how it looks like before! hehe...

Soon after touring the Parliament, I contacted Bobbie Lee to meet him up! It's been more than half a year nvr meet him alrdy... Kinda miss him la... haha... Btw, saw this interesting thing! I wonder who would be able to enter there... Muz b smone who's reli slim la... -_-||
After that, Bobbie brought us to Cha restaurant... Had really nice Taiwanese food there...
This is one of the desserts they serve! Looks nice eh? hehe.. And the lighting makes it looks so romantique! Oo la la... haha... But stil, I'm sick... =( So, didn't really enjoy lo... Aiz~
This place looks really Chinese yea? Like those 40's or 50's Chinese place... We went to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant called Regal... That was after I slept for 3 or 4 hours lo! Thanks for the Paracetamol, honey tea and all the care yea!! That's why we have to travel with Doctors and Pharmacists... hehehe... Animal doctors or veterinaries are also good travel mates cuz they can care for animals... More delicate! Even better! hahaha...
That nite we didn't go anywhr walk walk cuz I was so sick I went to bed at bout 9 pm... That day, I slept like more than 12 hours lo! Break record ar! haha... The following day went to rent two cars and drove up to Taupo~~ This photo is taken when I was kinda ok alrdy but stil feeling vy dizzy and headache... aiks... Eating wanton noodles!

3 weeks of silence...

Nope, I haven't been neglecting my bloggie... In those three weeks of silence, I've been doing lotsa productive thgs... haha! It was winter break and I got basically about 1 month of break... If I din do anythg, I'm sure to collect dust... So, I went around quite a bit and first stop was Palmerston North for the Bersatu Games...
Bersatu Games are held annually and it's an event joined by Malaysian students societies all over NZ... Next year, it may and most probably will be held in Auckland!! hehe~
And that's good cuz I dun hav to carry this freakin heavy and fragile trophy! -_-|| It actually fell apart and hit my leg... Pain lo! Smore I had to fix it... Aiz~
Took a bus down south....
With three other friends, from left, Lala, Zatil and B... (I think la...) Oops~ hehe... Oh and felt reli sorry cuz eat pork in front of them... hahaha...
10 hours later! Finally....... reached Palmerston North, checked-in to Kingsgate Hotel and this is my room... Shared with two other guys...
Oh and upon arrival, we were given this goodie bag with all those stuffs! Cool eh?! But too bad I lost the hand sanitiser... =(
From left, Boon and Nigel... Both my roommates... We swicth beds every nite cuz the single bed got no electric blanket... But wonder why everyone wanna sleep on the single bed... -_-||
Other than that, we got breakfast included too! hehe... Mini cereal! not to forget the 5 litres of milk provided too... Cool eh?!
In Bersatu, we got various sports... There's Badminton...
Soccer...
Netball... Those malay gals are reli pro la... Wear so thick smore can move ard so easily... Salute!
We got futsal too... Oh, that's my President, Naomi kickin the ball... This match was up against WMSO, the Wellington Malaysians'... U guys sux! =P hahaha...
Basketball was also competed... I see lotsa gals at the court at that time... They not coming to see me but to see UMSA's handsome basketball players la... haha! btw, UMSA is Union of Malaysian Students in Auckland, which I join and support...
There's also tennis... This is UMSA's double women's category... Left is Ying Swan (immediate past president of UMSA) and Sara's on the right... They got a gold for us... Congrats and good job, ladies!!
Other than the normal stuffs that u would see in a sports event, there are also out of the norm stuffs... Who's this James?? Identity should be kept a secret la... hehe~ Oh if u're wondering what's 69, dun ask me to show u cuz I wont... haha! go ask Mr Google...... *warning: material may offend.... XD
Besides that... What makes a difference in my day was actually being able to spot a rainbow... and of course, receiving a text message..... hehe... ;D

Hey hey hey! Exams over for me! Yipee!! Let's do a review of what I did la... Since that would be an appropriate thing to do here... OK... First semester for 2009... Frankly speakin, I did quite badly compared to last year lo... I kinda screwed up a lil' la... =( Why? Well, firstly cuz I juz shifted out.. So, got not much time to revise my work... and lastly, I'm not disciplined enough!! Aiks~ So, nex sem, I'm gonna go all out, I tell myslf!! Seriously!! I need to discipline myslf so that I can do wonders... ;D

Ok, bout the exam, this year I took 4 papers... The ones that I think shud b relatively easier turned out harder and the ones that I predicted that I wil fail gave me some light! Aiks~ haha... The world seems to be upside down... XD Oh well, for one sure thing, I won fail la... Juz how bad or gud I'll do only lo... Well, let's hope for the best la! I've done all that I can... Now, let's leave it to fate..... *pray hard*

Alright then... let's talk bout wat I did last two days... Right after the exam, I came back to pack my room, clean it and sort out my notes... Hehe~ Was kinda tiring la... Did like whole day wei! But I like that feeling... cuz my exams over! Muahaha~~ XD Okok... Finish syok-ing dy... Anw, after clean my room, went to bed early... Pay back time! haha... Need to sleep more! But dunno why I woke up early the nex day... -_-|| like bout 7am...

Nex day, went out with juniors! Brought out like 14 of my juniors... haha... We went to Sylvia Park... Walk walk, some of em buy stuffs and I juz bought some Mints... Put on my desk and smtimes ysok can eat la... haha... That day was quite tiring too... Too long nvr train my shopping stamina dy la! Aiyaya~ rusty alrdy... Need more training!!

And that day ended pretty early... Moving on to today, it was another fun day out! Went to watch Transformers 2 juz now... haha... Not many ppl in the cinema but it was quite a nice movie... Fuyoh! Apart frm the sound effects, the graphics are all vy vy gud too!! And after the movies, I'm here blogging la... hehe...

Yups~ as the title suggests, I went out with my housemates! It was yesterday aftrn... We went out for lunch at Skycity... Not the Sky Tower la... Oh well, nvm nvm... Next time go up eat! haha...

Took a City Circuit (free) bus to Skycity... Here's the Sky Tower! But not goin up 2day la... hehe...
There... My 3 housemates... One of em is my room mate... From left, Darrel, Han Meng and Clarence... Han Meng's my room mate btw... hehe... I wonder what were they lookin at... Hmm~~
Here's the agenda for the day... Haha... Buffet lunch at Fortuna... We only had bout an hour and a half to wallop and wack evrythg basically... Cuz we got there at bout 1 la...
Got buffet, sure got many ppl la... Since so many ppl at the main dishes place, I went to take some cold food first la... hehe...
Here... Shrimps, mussels, coleslaw and crabsticks (I think)... haha...
Then soon after, I went to take the main dishes... Few choices but not bad liao la... hehe...
I dun dare to take too much la... Scared cant finish mar... Then u know la... Buffet places noramlly have those conditions that if u could not finish then hav to pay for every 100 g of food wasted... But sadly, I only got to know that this place dun hav this type of ruling only aftr I finish my food... Still, it's ok la... I was alrdy so full I could hardly move myslf! haha...

My week has been an ordinary one until something special and out of the ordinary happened... hehehe~~ This morning when I woke up... Oh wait... Actually it's not morning la... hehehe~ But the main point is I was surprised by something... :D OMG, I'm sooo happy lo! haha... And it's not 一下 only...... XD

This is my lecturer...

When we were young, say when we were in Primary 1, our English teacher used to ask us to write essays about our family, holiday or even friends... Well, let us go back in time now and lemme write u a short descrption of my lecturer... How bout that? hehe... First of all, let's start with a picture of him......
This (above) is my lecturer. His name is.... (let's not mention names here)... So, his initials are AP. His age is probably about 30 to 35. So, soon he is going to face the mid-age crisis. Besides that, he likes to wear a black jacket with a collared shirt inside. His body size, I'm not so sure but I estimated that his tummy has a diameter of about 40 cm. That should be his maximum point if you were to lay him flat on the ground. Also, he has no chest hair like most Indians do because there was once, he was wearing a shirt like a gangster (never button first two buttons) and I see no hair.

One of his life principles is to start 5 - 10 minutes later and end 20 minutes earlier, which we took quite some time adapting to (and some of us actually enjoys it). Besides that, he has also got a habit of drinking in front of us. Well, drinking water of course! Every time he says a sentence or two, he will drink a gulp of water. So, minus away the time he used to drink water, he only teaches us about 30 - 25 minutes every lecture.

Next, let us talk about his class attendance. It was predicted after the first lesson he gave that the number of students will decrease exponentially from day to day. In other words, the number students disappearing from his class increase like there's no tomorrow everyday but it will settle at a value because the only one left could probably be just me. I like my lecturer and I like to see him drink.

Haha~ well, that's it... that is my lecturer! XD
It's autumn now... leaves are falling, winds are blowing... weather's turning really cold this year... dunno why but it has been really chilly these few days... wear 2 layers also felt the chill in my bones... aiks~ but I kind of like autumn cuz it's beautiful with its red, orange and yellow... nice combinations of colour...
Ok, I gotta sleep for now... Tmrw hav to wake up early to go for workshop and in the aftrn, music concert! hehe... Gdnite yea!! and c ya nex time.....

Hey hey hey!! How's everyone doing? My week has been a busy one, needless to say... What have I done lei? Erm... I've got studying to do, read the online news, did my workshop as usual, UMSA things (the website la) and juz had a test juz now! hehe... Too bad got a lot of careless mistakes =( aiz~ nvm la... Nex time work harder!! Well, let's see wat hav I done today, right?
12 noon till 1 pm I hav a Math Modelling lecture... Funny how I was able to pull through it la... XD But of course, I had a test afterwards... 3-4pm, a test on Mechanics of Materials... Smthg bout stresses and strains on everyday materials la... haha~
Oh, for those who say I AM FAT, take a look again~ =D Hahahaha... Cuz I told u I AM NOT!! XD But hey, I dress up so nicely at home for what?? Sampat ar?! Hiao ar?! (Translation : Crazy yea?! Vain yea?!) No la!! I'm preparing to go to the School of Music's Graduation Gala... Went with my room mate, Han Meng...
Well, we went out to hav dinner at Angie's Kitchen... Had Chicken Curry Kapitan... yummy~~
After dinner, we went straight to the Auckland Town Hall... OMG!! So many ppl...... We had to queue up lei... Thank gudness we get to go in... We're really lucky as we're the last ones to be able to enter the hall!! Yay!!
We sat separately la... But it was ok... We sat on the top floor... Would u juz look at that Pipe organ!! Gosh, it's huge!!
Ok... Basically juz now, there was a competition for some cash prize la... It was between three students... I think they're Mater class students... Geng (Skillful) wei!! This one is the first one presenting us a piano concerto... Exhilarating la!!! Fuyoh, so pro!!
Then the 2nd one presented a flute concerto... She's the one in green... Wa~ the flute sound like zao sia (out of tune) but stil sound like so pro wei~~ that's how gud she was... Smtimes my head oso follow the flute's tune move la... up down left right, all over the place liddat... Fuyoh~~~
Then there's this last contestant, the one in bright purple gown... She presented a piano concerto... This one hor, I tell u all... Even more geng (skillful)!! She play play play then suddenly will jump jump a bit and throw her head around one lei!! Then her hands are like waves lo... I think she can do the breakdance easily la... Oh btw, we Engineers would say the movement of the hands are sinusoidal... XD *lame* Anw, her piano totally captivated me (actually it's preventing me frm sleeping la)... haha!!
After the 3 contestants show their prowess, there's a flute quartet performance... 4 flutes which was not as "head-moving" as the 2nd contestant but stil quite nice... Vy comfortable performance!!
One thing that cannot be left out... Speech by the Chancellor of the school of music... Then the long-waited moment.........
Prize-giving!! The results came out and the guy got 3rd... Green lady got 1st and brinjal (aka eggplant) lady got 2nd... Aiya~ guys got beat flat again... =(
Then, everyone left dy lo... Done for the day!!
But I feel like staying there... the place's so nice and comfortable la... haha~
Anw, we still had to go back la... Haha... The one standing's Darrel and the one laying down on the sofa's my room mate, Han Meng... Thanks to him!! If not, I tonite go to the concert alone dy la... XD

Reviving the freezer!!

When was the last time my memories are preserved? Long time ago... When was the last time I had inspiration to write? Long time ago.... Sorry to disappoint u guys and gals out there yea! hehe... But fret not cuz I am back!! muahahaha~~~ Ok then.. this post will be reviving my bloggie... I think telling u guys and gals wat I did before will be a gud start... Well, first and foremost, lemme intro u to my apartment!! hehe...
This is the living room... Btw, my apartment's name is Empire and I stay on the 10th floor...

And last but not least, my room... hehe... Half of it actually... I have a room mate whose not in the pic (actually part of him is in the pic... haha...) and his part of the room's not in the pic too except his wardrobe la... There's my bed on the left, my guitar case, my table and chair and wardrobe...
First thg's first... Went to get internet in the first week of orientation... Apparently this year, they haven got many stalls offering free hot dogs to offer this year but National Bank still offers free hot dogs la... haha... Maybe the recession is much worse than I thought... Btw, I got Woosh! as my internet service provider... Not bad la the download speed... hehe... I ciplaked (pirated) a lot of stuffs alrdy...
Had to set it up myslf... And those days when I set it up, it really made me frustrated to the max due to some connection problems... Juz could not hook up the net... But thank gudness evrythg's solved eventually... haha! Oh btw, the view outside of the window shows the Auckland motorway and hospital...
Flatting out isn't easy but it's fun! I get to cook for my friends... hehehe~ I cooked chicken curry and vege recently... And guess what?!
We actually finished up everything! Haha... Didn't know I had a thing for cooking till now... XD Wanna try anyone?? Oh and the above photo was not editted in any ways and the dishes were not thrown away too~~ It's all happily and safely digested... hehe..

talking bout my uni life, it's kinda fun + some stress la... haha... I had a field trip with my department... For those who dunno, I'm with the department of Engineering Science... This field trip was organised and we went to a few engineering firms and industries... Oh and not to mention, we had lotsa fun too!!
Not only did we visit the industries, we also went to Rotorua!! What's best is it's totally free of charge!! Yeah, baby~~ haha... This shows the backpackers whr we stayed for the night... It was a 3 days, 2 nites trip...
Went walkin ard Rotorua alone... Bumped into this... Look at that! Pejabat Polis wor!! It's Malay Language wei~~ and another thing... I can definitely write chinese characters much better than that la!! haha...
Got this pic in the backpackers... It was signed by a 'Jessie'... And so I wonder... Jessie, did u draw this?? hehe~ for those who dunno... Jessie is a broccoli addict who is also obsessed with making her bed and stays on the 7th floor of Grafton Hall... hahaha~
Besides that, we also went to a thermal power plant... This here belongs to Contact Energy, an energy company... See how they generate electricity frm steam... hehe...
Then of course, the fun part!! We were given a choice... White water rafting of Luge... I chose Luge la! Cuz wanna do white water rafting another time... hehe... This is the view of Lake Rotorua...
Now, the stress part of uni... One of my subjects, MECHENG 223 Machines and Mechanisms require us to finish the tutorials... So, we hav to go to the lab and look at each component and answer questions bout it... First tutorial was on internal combustion engines... This pic shows the carburetor... A device that ensures the fuel and air are mixed at the right ratio and pumped into the combustion chambers... hehe...
This one here shows a single cylinder, spark ignition, 2 valve, air-cooled, petrol engine... wa~ that was a mouthfull... haha..
The following tutorial was on electric motors... Went to the lab and looked at these thgs here... The above is a electromagnetic DC motor...
Not only that la... There's another subject, ENGSCI 211 Mathematical Modelling 2 which requires us to do a project on the modelling of nerve signalling... The above is part of the project la... It's called the Q-Q Normal plot to test for normality of the data... Hehe... Everytime I see this, it reminds me of..........
Sago Gula Melaka (Malacca Sugar Sago... direct translated)!! Can u see the resemblance?? The dot dot in the graph.... Looks juz like the sago... hahaha... -_-||
Ok... Next thing I gotta do for the project is to plot the graph which shows the nerve signalling behaviour... This one here shows the spiking behaviour at 58 mA... hehe... I used like 3 to 4 days to complete the project wei... Vy vy tiring and confusing!!
I juz completed this here... Hehe... It's for my another subject, ENGSCI 233 Computational Techniques and Computer Systems... We basically do programming and interactions with the computer through the I/O (input/output) ports... The above shows the implementation of a C language program... Aiks~
Stress surely will hav la... But in the midst of the stress, I had a lil' fun in the workshop!! =) I did my workshop this semester, every Friday morning... The two items above is hand-made from a steel plate and aluminium bar hor~~ my skill not abd hor? hehe... The below one is a drill gauge and the above one is a spirit level...
To further release stress, yesterday nite I went out with all my housemates... To witness the Engineering Revue!! hehe... For ur info,a revue is a multi-act theretical show which combines lotsa different elements like music, dances, comedies, parodies etc etc... It was sooooo funny until I nearly ROFLMAO (roll on floor laughing my ass off)!!! hahaha~~ This one here is one of the scenes where guys dress up as ballerinas... Wth~ haha!

Well, that's it la... That's nearly all the thgs I did during the past two months plus lo... hehe... For those who came by evry now and then hoping for a new post, reli wanna thank you very muchie neh!! Ok ok... I hav to go to bed alrdy... It's late and I dun wanna be late for class tmrw... hehe... Came across this interesting stuff while reading my sis' friend's blog... haha... kinda amusing actually! Everyone knows that they can gauge how healthy they are by doing medical check-up... But seriously I didn't know that u can actually also gauge how healthy are ur feces!! How cool's that?!
Found this on the net... hehe... So, what're u waiting for?! go check how healthy are they! XD oh and the every morning sensation really is one of the most enjoyable moments la... haha! provided u had enough dietry fibre la..... =P

The deicision of not bringing my lappy along with me to KL really made me quite bored la... haha... can't even update my blog properly... anw, I decided that I should update la... but it's smthg random that i thought bout yesterday nite b4 I slp... hehe...

I juz finish watching Red Cliff... it's a vy nice movie!! omg~ and proud to say that I actually understand most of it!! yay! XD I may not understand most of the phrases they're using but I did understand the plot la... hiak hiak~~ gonna watch Red Cliff 2 later in Cineleisure aftrwrds...

I got to know this song through a game... O2 Jam... I did not play it online la... played O2 Mania... there was this song inside and it has got a vy strong beat.... I like the beats and the singer's a gal who has a really low and strong voice... good to listen whenevr I wanna relax... the song reminds me of the times in INTI college when I studied with my friends there till late at night, when I went out with a group of SAM (South Australian Matriculation) friends to have dinner, when I overslept and miss classes and many many more la... those were the days really.... XD

Got this song from Jack when I was in INTEC... hehe... used to listen to it when I do my assignments or when studying... it's cuz of this album that I learn to like Lin Yu Zhong... his English name is Rynn Lim and he's a Malaysian singer... most of the songs in this album, inclding this song are nice... this song was also used in a drama that Rynn acted in entitled 'The Beginning'... the Beginning was the first drama (if not mistaken la) produced from the cooperation of Malaysia and Singapore's media company...

Recently, I've been really neglecting my bloggie... and for that, my readership has fallen sharply just like the economy now... haha... anw, this as I promised will be the last post I do about Australia before blogging bout my hometown! yay!! excited mar?? tell me u are... haha... =P

U muz hav asked y this title right?? hehe... simple... cuz the time now is *drum rolls* deng deng deng!! 230am!! haha... Ok back to business! My last few days in Brisbane were spent at an island further up north... It's Fraser's Island... but before heading to Fraser's, we have to stop at Hervey Bay... and so....
Dun play play ar! I drove there oso wor... haha... cool car eh?! it's a Toyota Aurion...
Halfway we stopped to rest and eat... looks like Malaysia hor?? haha...
Found a new way of capturing photo to make it look nice... this is the effect.. nice??

After that, we went to the beach to hav a walk...

And not to 4get desserts... haha... it's nice lei!! After dinner, we juz went back and chat a while and go to bed dy lo... hehe...
The next day... we are all geared up to go to Fraser's Island!! this is the vehicle that we rented to drive there... dun play play wor! it's a 4WD.... Land Rover...
The small ship behind will be the vessel we're gonna take to that island... it's called a barge...
And I did not know the barge can even excrete... hahaha... it;s juz as simple as A to B to Shit (C)!!
This is what it's like on the inside of the island... cool eh?! it was stil raining that day...
Everyone who went that day! hehe... we have two Taiwanese friends on the left, two Malaysians in the centre and a Chinese on the right... hehe... thank gudness we all speak the same language... hahaha...
We met a lot of interesting stuffs and of course nice sceneries too... like this one here... I call it the toilet brush plant... cuz it looks like a toilet brush... haha...
Then there's Lake McKenzie too... can u believe it?? this is in the middle of the island!! and I heard that the whole island is so special cuz it's made purely of sand.... omg~
That's why there are so many sand dunes like this here... it's right beside the island's deepest lake, Lake Wabby.... cool eh?!
Besides that, u can also put ur 'butt' here... if u have more than one 'butt', u can place it here too... no worries, it wont burn a bit... haha! If it does burn, there wil owaz be an ambulance (in the background) to save ur 'butt'.... XD
As a result of the rain and muddy terrain, our beautiful white car has bcome like this....
Before the next part of the journey, we stopped by a place called Eurong to have our lunch... look at that, they sell Chikos for AUD 3.10 each!! and they roll too! how cool is that?! haha...

Next exciting thing is this... beach driving!! haha...
Along the beach there are many living creatures... this is a sand crab...
And these are not tang yuan (direct translates to soup balls)... these are actually sand balls made by the sand crab... hehe.. cute hor?!
U're now looking out the Pacific Ocean... yea...
After one whole day of driving and walking and taking photos, we stopped at Happy Valley and checked in to this backpackers! hehe... chalet style~
The next morning, it was sunny! vy ncie weather lo... look at this hibiscus! it's so big~~~~
Well, of course I wanna experience driving a 4WD la! haha... it was so much fun and it's not hard to manoeuvre it lo...
After we had sooooo much fun, it is time to go back... and I have to catch my flight that nite lo... hehe... this is taken frm the beach that has the jetty where we'll depart from Fraser's Island back to Hervey Bay...
Well, time flies.... and had to say gudbye to my new friends... haha... reli gotta thank Chloe a lot for taking gud care of me and showing me ard the places when I was in Brisbane la! btw, Chloe is Chia Yee and she's standing beside me here... hehe... I certainly had lotsa fun when I was there lo... and oso not forgetting Shirin!! =D she also teman (accompany) me go ard on the 1st day I arrived... hehe...
Time to board the plane.....
My flight... it was actually delayed for one hour plus... aiks~ fated to stay in Brisbane longer a bit la... hahaha....
Had some white wine... hehe... cuz when I flew to Auckland, I cant have any... so, this time gotta have some!! dun care..... haha...
After like bout 8 hours, I reached Malaysia!! home sweet home.... then, I spent one week in my aunt's place o... then my mum came and fetch me back... I drove back to BP of course... and here's the border of the state of Johor... Batu Pahat, my hometown is nearer and I felt so excited..... hehehe...

Well, that's it for my Brisbane tour posts la... haha...next one will be on Batu Pahat alrdy...the food, the people, the places and the culture... so, c ya nex time!! =D
