Christchurch trip

It's been a while since i updated... Reason? Because I was on holiday la... haha... I went to Christchurch and then up north to Kaikoura, Bleinheim, Picton, Nelson then back down to Westport, Hanmer Springs and Christchurch again... Throughout the journey, I drove lei... hehe... My arrival at Christchurch was on the 12th of April at nite ard 1030pm...
I took Air NZ to Christchurch... and found out it's actually worst than taking AirAsia... -_-||Upon reaching Christchurch, I was not only greeted by this welcome sign but also 4 of my good friends: Calvin, Choon Seng, Eric and Isaac... Thanks, guys!! U guys did a great job on the banner though from far i can't see it and u guys stood at the side... haha... Next, Angeline actually prepared a late dinner for me... Thanx too! =) Weather was quite cold at that time... so, if you're plannin to go to Christchurch during winter, bring more winter clothings...

Well, the next morning, Choon Seng, Eric and Li Ying brought me around their university... In case u all dun know, their uni is the University of Canterbury, situated in Ilam, Christchurch... I wonder if anyone noticed that til now, no one from Christchurch ever introduced their uni yet?? haha... so, now i just help em briefly intro the uni la... Before that, i actually walked through Ilam fields to get to Li Ying's hall... I found this:The sign should be keep of the grass... haha... anw, we still stepped over the grass... dun care~Soon, we reached one side of Ilam field... It's used for rugby games... there're actually a few rugby fields on Ilam field lo~ I dirtied my white shoes by walkin through that field wor... aiks... xim tia (heartache)...Ok la... aftr meeting with Li Ying, we went to UC... they say their senior say this is the tallest building in Christchurch... I think it may not be lo~ This is the James Hight Building, used as their general library... it consists of 11 storeys...Then, either Eric or Choon Seng suggested that this venue (outside some lecture theaters) appeared in their prospectus... So, I asked em to sit down like in the prospectus la... haha... then i lebih (extra), go stand behind posing... hehe...

UoA one better-looking... hehe... =P but then also because the one in UoA got lotsa ppl donate one la... hehe...Ok la... now's the more important part dy... the college of Engineering in UC... this is the front door leading to the library and office...And this looks like the back door but it's another front door la... leading towards lecture theaters and the cafe...

Up the stairs got the Mechanical Engineering lecture theaters... if i didn't rmb wrongly la... heheAfter the uni tour, we cooked lunch together... erm... it's actually for 10 persons la... that's why so much... hehe... at last still have to add some morer rice wor!! Here got fried bee hoon (vermicelli), vegetable with a bit of red wine (a masterpiece from Eric), luncheon meat (got the highest demand), fried pork with ginger and chicken with spring onions (spicy and original)... haha...Quite successful la... evryone finished the lunch...... with some happy faces...I was cutting spring onions... hehe... After lunch, my friends brought me to the city... haha...First stop, the Buddhist Association in Christchurch... we went ion and prayed a bit...This is outside the entrance... nice lei~ hehe... vy japanese style...Then, waited for the bus... i had nothing to do... so....... A char!!!!! haha... actually it's not me la... some drunk ppl did this... the glass was quite thick one wor... but they managed to break it... geng (powerful) lei...In the bus... Choon Seng like so emo liddat.... haha...We reached the bus exchange and walked to the Catherdral Square, which is the second stop... hehe... Over here, u can see the cathedral on the left... the thing on the right is something la... i dunno what is it... no one told me mar... haha... in photo from left : Choon Seng and me...Poser... -_-||Opposite the cathedral, there's a 3-storey toilet... there're even showers inside with towels to let at NZD 3 per towel... hehe... too bad the toilets closed dy... didn't get to go in...The i site or information site... for tourists la... there's a Starbucks at the far side of this building...The founder of Christchurch... hehe... I can't seem to find his name... hmm~~Tram... didn't sit la... too costly... i think it's 14 bucks per person per ride... 178's a nice number though... hehe...Side view of the tram...Group photo by the Avon River... Calvin was kinda hungry that time la... haha... but i still have my finger... hehe...Next is the art gallery... they say it's kinda boring inside... i dunno as i didn't enter it... but the building looks kinda nice...Beside the art gallery building, i found this... it has water flowing down the sides... looks familiar?? don't u think it looks like a urinal?? haha... and this is really a public urinal lo!I swear i was only posing... hehe...Across the street, i found this... Can u see the shoes hanging?? it's actually a lamp post... so, i think it's some April fool's joke la... haha... they really take April fool's day seriously in Christchurch wor....This building was previously used as the old University of Canterbury building... Now, it has many shops inside... there're even public halls...Outside of the building, i found this thing which has lights comin out... so, it's just like the disco! haha... nice pose? =PInside the building, there's a pool... here, u can see Calcin and Li Ying trying to kick me down while Chin Kiat watches... haha...So, i asked Eric to help me push Calvin down into the fountain in Botanical Gardens... hehe...




Next, we went back to have our dinner at Yummy, a restaurant... I heard it was opened by a Malaysian... the food there is quite nice... We ordered 4 dishes... fish fillet, sweet and sour pork, a vege and tofu... and that pretty much sums up my first day la... 6 more days to go... -_-|| haha...
